Suggestion about Book Mr Bourie

With the many problems that are arising with the coupons, Some of which are mentioned at the Las Vegas Advisor website.

Now wouldn't it be nice if the ACG coupons were in a small book of their own? (TYLVFitz)

Pocket size would be wonderful. The current size being very large to carry around, is the main reason we do not buy the book.

What are the problems with the coupons that you are mentioning? I haven't heard of any problems with the 2009 edition's coupons.

Most of the problems in 2008 were with the Stations coupons and they aren't in the 2009 book.

Went to the Longhorn (across the street from East Cannery) on Thanksgiving. They refused to honor the MP coupon saying would only honor it if you had the book with you (which we did not). Tried showing them the hand card, but no dice. Just FYI. (from LVA member)


My post wasnt so much dedicated to the problems (I tried editing that out) but it was related to the size of the book and perhaps making it user friendly like LVA's member rewards book (POV)

Those problems are usually caused by employees who confuse the American Casino Guide coupons with the LVA coupons. There are no problems that I know of with the 2009 ACG coupons being accepted by the casinos.

At this point, I do not know of a cost-effective way to incorporate a smaller pocket-sized book, just for the coupons. We believe it's best to just cut them out in advance of your visit.

Yes, I too have had the same problem (as the poster of this thread) with the Longhorn casino.

Since the Longhorn had that same coupon in the 2008 ediiton of the Guide and we never had a problem with it, I find it strange that it would suddenly have problems being accepted.

Keep in mind that you must present your players club card along with the coupon and you can only use it one time a month.

We will follow-up with our contact at the Longhorn to remind them that the coupon doesn't have to be removed from the book in the presence of an employee.

Cant you raise the price a buck or so and then make the coupon book separate. I am quite sure that it would increase sales. As it stands now the book is very user unfriendly

The size. Compared to the Member RewArds (POV), which fits very nicely in a pocket.

The other info in the book is great, but I am guessing the majority of people buy it for the coupons.

I would bet if YOU posted a question/poll that--- If people would be willing to pay a little more for the book if they could get the coupons in a book by itself, that many would be willing to pony up a little extra. Like I stated before we do not buy the book at all anymore just because its size and inconvenience to carry around.

Sorry, but I don't follow your logic. You don't buy the book because you think the coupons should be in a separate book? I still don't see how a separate book would be any better than removing the coupons from the book in advance of your visit to a casino. Just my 2 cents.
