Thread: 2009 Alamo Coupon problems?

  1. #1

    Question 2009 Alamo Coupon problems?

Is anyone else having a problem using the $20 off coupon code: AD5291JDS

I have tried to use the code for a 4 day rental in Vegas for various dates next year and I get the error code: "Coupon cannot be applied to this reservation".

The One FREE Day coupon appears to work fine so long as the 5 day rental length term is met.

I had the same problem with another coupon. I called Alamo and was told coupons were capacity controlled and the the limit for my coupon had already been reached. Probably the same scenario for your difficulties.

I am also having trouble with the coupons. It (The acg contract ID) is not giving me the American Casino Guide discount (UP TO 20% OFF) that you get before the other coupons (FREE DAY, $20 OFF) are applied. was the wrong number published in the book?

The Contract ID number is correct. Actually, you don't even need to enter that number if you visit the Alamo booking page that was made specifically for ACG members. It is here - Alamo Rent A Car - Discount Rental Cars, Vacation Car Rental Deals

On that page the contract ID number is automatically entered for you. Additionally, on the left hand side of the page there are three other coupons that can be printed out. Those coupons can be used in addition to the rate discount for the contract ID.

I know that the Alalmo page is working correctly. Someone contacted me last month about a problem they were having. We checked that page and everything worked fine.

It seems that the original post about this problem was from someone trying to make a four-day rental and using a coupon that is only valid for a rental of five or more days. I would assume that is why the coupon was not accepted.

If you are still having a probelm, you can send me the details of your rental and I will check on it. Send it to casinos@aol.com. However, please make sure that you have complied with the terms of the coupon.

    Thanks.

    Steve:

You are reading my OP incorrectly. The coupon I am trying to use (the $20 off) is for rentals of 4 or more days. My rental is for four days and the Alamo website returned the error message I reported. My reservation appears to conform with the terms of the coupon.

I have never had an issue with ACG Alamo coupons in the past.

OK. Just email me the details of your rental at casinos@aol.com and I will check it out. If I have the same problem I will also have my Alamo contact look into it.

However, you should note that on the ACG discount page you linked above, out of the additional coupons linked on the left, the $20 off discount that I am having a problem with is not listed. This is what I see listed as additional discounts on that page:

    One Free Day

    One Class Upgrade - US

    One Class Upgrade - Europe

Perhaps this plays into all this?

Also, the 20% discount is not reflected as an itemized discount on the reservation detail page.

when I try to apply the $20 off coupon it says coupon cannot be accepted. I also only see the three coupons on the left side of the Alamo page. I am trying to rent for 7 days starting Feb. 24. it will accept the free day coupon, not the $20 off.
