Default Video Poker Discard?

I am almost certain that I have played some VP where a card that is discarded, reappears on the redeal. Has this happened to you?

A discard should not be dealt back on the same hand. If discards go back into the same deck,it would decrease the odds of getting a Royal Flush. I don't think this is legal, just as it is illegal to set a VP machine to prevent certain hands. If any casinos are doing this they are cheating.

A discarded card should not reappear when you draw new cards.

If that happens, there is a flaw in the machine's software.

Denny ....

If you are 'certain' that this has happened to you, then why didn't you immediately stop playing, and call an attendant for an investigation ???

Seems silly to keep playing if you are 'certain' you are being cheated ... which I highly doubt.

Where did you read that I was 'certain'? I said 'almost' certain. There's a big difference. When you play hand after hand you don't always remember what you discarded. Then a card comes up and it seems like you just discarded it, but maybe you didn't, so you can't get an attendant for that. If I was 'certain', yes I would quit playing. I'm only asking if anyone else thinks this happened to them.

I have had this thought in the past, but knew it to be impossible--if the machine is working correctly; but, on second thought, and now with more attention paid a couple of time, I have concluded that I threw away a 4D and drew the 4H, or discarded the 2S and drew the 2C, as an example.

There's a name for this. Don't remember what it is called. My wife always tells me that it is just my age.

I think we have a tendency to remember those draws as our frustration increases and that when we discard a 6, only 3 times out of 47 does a 6 come on the draw.

NO DENNY, you didn't see the SAME card. IT APPEARED the same card showed, when in actuality, it was the same NUMBER/COLOR as you just discarded.

Don't let folks think the machines are cheating since you only see a card for a nanosecond (dealt/deleted/newly drawn.
