Default Green Stamps Slot Machine Strategies?

Just got back from a trip to Vegas and the rest of Nevada and these green stamp machines are like gold if you can catch 'em in the right situation. The break even level is approx. when 500 out of the 1200 stamps nneded to complete the 1st tier is present on the game......anything over 500 is a winner. The key is to be down less than 1000 credits before reaching the free-spin mode when all 1200 stamps have been accumulated. You'll get 5 free spins at max bet and all lines covered when you complete the 1st tier. On a penny machine that translates to 2.50 per spin....with a conservative estimate of an 80% return, I figure the average return on the free-spin round is 10 dollars. I made about 250.00 in 2 weeks on these games while only casually seeking them out.

Many casinos downtown have them(all are penny machines) and many on the strip have them also. In fact NY NY has a 1.00 version and there are a couple of nickel denomination games on the strip also.
On Boulder Hwy, Magic Star has one, Sam's Town has a couple, Boulder station has one, and Arizona Charlie's has a couple.

PS: The Big Ben and Golden Gong(a variation of Big Ben) machines also are fairly new and have a banking feature. They reset at 50.00 and the word on the street is that they are a positive play over 100.00. I found several over 100.00 and took a few shots at them but never hit any. You have to be willing to spend several hours on them to finally hit the bonus. I know a guy who spent 12 hours on one before hitting it at 150.00 after having 90.00 invested in the game.........I guess that's better than working at McDonald's !

The Green stamps got up to 25 free spins and the bonus increases per point with every 5 free spins. If you can hang in for 25 spins the bonus is the best as follows:

First 1200 - $1.00
Second 1.50
Third 2.00
fourth 2.50
fifth 3.00

total $10.00

Plua 25 free spins. so hang in there for the full bonus but be carefull. If you do not play the free games and run out of money you could lose your games.

We played t hem at Terrible's, and Bally's.

big Ben has a bonus where if you get a big Ben on the first and fifth reel, and the clock strikes 12 times you get the Jackpot. 25 lines jackpot pays coin per per line resetting at $50 i.e. if ou play 25 lines 2 coins you would get 2 times the jackpot. Also 15 free games per three Ben's anywhere else.

A very popular game.

Sounds like y'all are chasing a jackpot/pipe dream.
$2.50/hand on a penny machine ??
Just play 5 quarters on a VP machine--1/2 the cost & a much better position to come out ahead.

When offered the choice of the free spins or to continue saving, upon completing a tier,......always take the free spins.....if you like to make money on these machines.
To continue saving means that you'll have to continue playing which will ultimately dilute and probably wipe out the initial advantage that you had when you first started playing with.....let's say half the 1st tier filled.

Hey Warren, it only 'sounds' like we're chasing a jackpot pipedream......'sounds' being the key word in that observation of yours. Go back and spend a few minutes to read the entire thread........that should clear up most of your ignorance.

Green stamps is a good proposition but if you do not get anything in the five bonus spins you only get 100 credits and that is not enough for you to make any money .

it does happen.

I have played it 23 times at a good position and have come out ahead 14 times and lost 9 times. Most of the losses have been very small with 2 exceptions. Luckily I was using freeplay on those two ocassions and came out ahead.

One time someone left a whole set and only a few on the next set. I lost $3 on that one

Luck does have something to do with your outcome.

It's true that luck has something to do with each individual play on the green stamps or any game.....but the luck evens out if you play them enough times. You may come up empty on the free spins once in awhile but then there will be times when you hit it for 20-30 dollars or even more.......but the average is about 2 dollars won for every free spin on a penny machine.

I don't know what you're betting when you play these games twyman, but I only bet 5-10 credits per spin.......if you're betting the max you could frequently dig yourself a hole that the free spins will not be able to bail you out of. I won money about 85% of the time that I played and the few losses I had were less than 5 dollars......all my plays were on penny machines BTW.
