The El Cortez is in process of remodeling the old Ogden House which will reopen in 2009 as the Cabana Suites. The artist's rendering of the outside is reminiscent of something in South Beach.
I stayed at the El Co recently and had a bird's eye view of the construction. The entire building was gutted and looked like a major renovation.
From the artists rendition, it appears that it's going to be quite nice when it's done
It will have a rooftop pool as well.
There was also supposed to be a pool going up in connection with the renovation. Any sense that that will be there in the spring? Can anyone in any room use the pool?
