Status of Old Discussion Board Posts

We are still trying to move over the posts from the old discussion board.

There was a script designed to help us automatically move them over, but we just found out that the script was for an older version of this board and it won't work on this newer version.

Hopefully, we will be able to bring them over eventually.

Unfortunately, the old board had constant problems and it was very outdated. We knew that it had to be replaced at some time. When it went out of order last Saturday, we knew it was time to make the change.

This new Vbulletin board is very sophisticated and it is the best discussion board that is available.

This new format may take some getting used to, but in the long run it should be an asset to the site and a good place for our members to share information.

Why, the smileys alone make it a great board!

Please feel free to post questions. If I can't answer them, I am sure that some of our other members can probably help you out.

Change is always a pain, but usually worth it in the end. We will all just have to adjust---and it will probably take time. Board does look good!

We found a new program that is supposed to help us recover the old posts.

We have someone working on the conversion and, hopefully, the old posts will be placed on this board within one week.

The transfer of the old posts was successful.

We now will create some new forums to categorize the old posts by subject.

Unfortunately, we are also busy writing the new 2009 edition of the American Casino Guide, so we don't have a lot of spare time to work on moving the old posts to their appropriate categories.

Therefore, it will probably take several weeks to move them over, but the job will get done eventually.
