Thinking about a trip to the south from Michigan.

Do the Louisiana and the Mississippi casinos offer complimentary drinks?

Yes. Mississippi allows casinos to give free alcohol. Louisiana allows it as well but Harrahs in New Orleans is a little tight. They like to bring a little draft instead of a bottle of beer.

We go west every winter and spend several weeks in Las Vegas.

This year we are planning a stop in Vicksburg for a couple days and in Shreveport for a couple days. Purpose of these stops are to see what the towns are about with the intention of making one of them a winter destination by buying a house or condo. Then, we figure, we'd be about halfway between Las Vegas and Michigan - able to get to Michigan with one overnight stay.

Any suggestions on what we might wish to see in either of these two towns?

Or, which might be the better area?

Or, anything else?
