  • Blue Chip Casino & Hotel: Not Worth It!

As you can see by these reviews this casino has gone downhill since I first started playing. I used to have fun at the slots...no action now, same slot machines, rarely replaced by new ones....suck your money so fast you leave depressed and dying to get out of there! The smoke lingers everywhere, other casinos are smoke free...get updated! Did not attend any shows. A few of the bands were good...lately, horrible. Slot techs and managers were always helpful on the floor to me. Players club customer service needs to get on the same page...don't tell customers two different things about promotions! As far as the buffet, good variety of food...certain nights are better than others. More than once, I had to cut greasy fat off some of the steaks and prime rib....Gordon Ramsey would have had a fit and.....fired a few chefs. I would expect better for the price. As far as the hotel, the original hotel is ok, a little dusty at times and toilets plug frequently. The spa blue tower is beautiful, with a safe inside each room for security. I was always asked to pay $33.00 more so I took the original hotel. I never won enough money to pay the extra! My friend had us all stay at the Spa for a birthday treat. Also, the spa blue products are nice...never had a massage or used the spa services. I have always enjoyed my stay at the hotel, the staff is always friendly and go above and beyond meeting your needs. I mostly went to the casino to enjoy the amenities...the pool, whirlpool, and exercise room. I never was a BIG gambler. I've learned a hard lesson on playing the slots. You had better just enjoy the amenities...after all, YOU pay for them. Nothing is FREE, just discounted. Slot play points double for food, but, mostly, I paid for the buffets and only once or twice got a free buffet. The building of the new Spa Blu Tower has taken its toll on the previous customers fun slot play....they, and myself included, have paid for it dearly. After all, we were loyal customers to the Blue Chip Casino...where is their loyalty to us?

i disagree with your smoke asessment as i do with almost all posts regarding "smoke". Only folks with beagle noses would notice any hint of smoke.
So folks considering going to blue chip, don't worry, you'll live ...& your experience will be comfortable. Four winds, 20 miles away, has 20-30 foot ceilings, so no smoke issues, just like mgm grand detroit. Methinks the loser blames "smoke" for a trip of losing on the machines. Boyd discounts points when applied to food, not charge more points. Amen

Well, it's been a year since we stayed there, so my impressions are that old, but we really enjoyed our stay there. We are not smokers, and we did not notice the smoke as being bad. We stayed in the old tower, but it was nicely remodeled and fine with us. We really liked being close to 4Winds so we could go back and forth between the two. Actually, we are looking forward to scheduling another trip up there soon. Just our experience.

I could not agree more lee on the smoke issue... I bet that if he had won, the smoke would not have been an issue...

I know that some casinos are smokier than other, but I think the casinos do a good job to cater to both smokers and non-smokers, by allowing those such as me to smoke, and those who don't, an environment that is good.
