Fitzgeralds is the one of the least difficult places to get comps meals rooms etc. for a very small amount of play you will be on the mailing list forever with free room nights and buffets every month a little heavier play and you get invites to VIP events with cash giveaways.

It's not the BEAU RIVAGE, but it is comfortable and the paybacks are a little better than the fancier places.

HARRAH'S owns so many of the other casinos those are the places that are tight and charge so much for rooms and they HATE video poker players and will give you little or nothing in comps or cashback.

The SHERATON used to be good years ago before HARRAH'S bought the place. We used to get 2 free room nights every month, sometimes more.

The rooms were nice, glass and marble bathrooms with huge jacuzzi in the room. After HARRAH'S bought the place they tripled the price of the rooms; sometimes $300-$400 a night and no more free nights or double point days either.

Have fun in Tunica. My brother and his wife did quite well at Fitzgeralds. I like Sam's Town. Once I won over $400 on a penny machine playing 25 lines and only betting one per line. Sam's is also pretty good with comps and have a great buffet.

Resorts and Bally's have a 'buck' buffet; you can get a free buffet with one comp dollar. Gold Strike had been good with buffet comps with some play.

The Grand is huge, but I haven't been lucky there lately. Most of the machines at the Grand will take only $5 or larger bills, not good if you need to play a few more coins to get a point or play out your credits with $1.00. Good luck!

I wasn't sure if you were asking ??? where to play slots OR TELLING us where to play.

In my case, I had my best luck at Sam's (best buffet also) & Resorts. That was playing VP, over 3 days last March.

But fortunes change...so you've just got to be LUCKY. I'd stick to Sam's, Hollywood & Resorts right within walking distance. I had no luck at Fitz & they're the furthest away.

WE PLAY IN TUNICA TWO TO FOUR TIMES A YEAR AND HAVE HAD THE BEST LUCK AT FITZGERALD'S. ALSO THE ROOM COMPS ARE GOOD FOR WEEKENDS.

WE PLAY AT THE HORSESHOE AND THE GRAND, BUT AS THE OTHER NOTE SAID THEY GOT A LOT TIGHTER AFTER HARRAH'S TOOK OVER.OVER

THE PAST FIVE YEARS WE HAVE NOT PAID FOR A ROOM AT FITZGERALD'S AND VERY FEW MEALS. NEVER PLAYED AT SAM'S TOWN SO DON'T KNOW. WE ONLY PLAY SLOTS.

The best place to play in Tunica is Resorts.

Join the players club and earn one point for a buffet.

They and Ballys (connected) are the only casinos
that do not have freeplay. They have cash back and cash coupons.

Resorts and Fitzgeralds have more of the newer slot machines.

Regardless of where you play, you will have fun.

Re: Best place to play slots in Tunica Mississippi

We are going there in a couple of weeks. We are staying at the Gold Strike. Is that near most of the other casinos? I tried looking it up on the map, but couldn't really tell. Someone told us the best place to play is Hollywoods. I am sure we will try them all.

What is freeplay that everyone keeps talking about? Is this the money you receive when you join the players club?

Re: Best place to play slots in Tunica Mississippi

Tunica casinos are divided into several areas. If you drive south on US 61 from Memphis, the first casino you will come to is the Grand. South of the Grand, is Bally's and then Casino Center, which includes the Gold Strike, Horseshoe and Sheraton.

Fitzgeralds, now known as the 'Fitz' is on a side road. It is the only casino actually on the Mississippi River. Many people say that it is lucky for them. South-west of the 'Fitz' is Casino Strip, Sam's Town, Hollywood and Resorts.

Bally's and Resorts have the $1 buffet comp. At Resorts, you have to earn the $1.00 the day you plan to use it. Depending on what you play, it may not be that easy to earn. Thursday they had a T-bone steak buffet that was very good. Bally's will let you use your $1.00 comp any day, you don't need to earn it that day. We did not eat at Bally's when we were there in January, 2008.

Both the Grand and the Gold Strike have converted their second floors to live poker tables. The Grand buffet was under construction last week and I was told to avoid it, so we did not eat there. The Gold Strike used to be good with meal comps and they have a good buffet.

There is a Tunica County Visitors Center south on 61. They have good maps of the area. If you are coming up (north) on 61, there is a visitor center at the road to Lula (and the Isle of Capri). If you Google Tunica, you should get some good maps of the area.

                  Hope this helps.

                    Barb:

The website for Tunica is tunicamiss.org. Click on Casinos and on the bottom of the page there is a link to a good map.

But any map will not show that there 9 cssinos at some point are roughly 4 miles or more apart.

Shuttle bus for $1.00 will get you around & save your own gas.
