  • O’Sheas Casino Officially Returns to the Las Vegas Strip

Las Vegas, NV - December 27, 2013 - O’Sheas Casino, a Las Vegas Strip classic, re-opened its doors today at the much anticipated new location inside The Quad Resort & Casino. Bally’s Las Vegas Jubilee! Showgirls, The Quad’s headliner, Jeff Civillico, and Mr. Lucky himself, Brian Thomas, were all there to help welcome the venue’s first guests.

The opening featured an official ribbon cutting by Eileen Moore, Regional President and General Manager of The Quad Resort & Casino. An eager crowd full of O’Sheas’ faithful, old and new, packed the bar to commemorate the special day.

“May your pockets be heavy— your heart be light,” recited Thomas to the O’Sheas faithful, “And may good luck pursue you at O’Sheas, each morning, afternoon and night.”

After a 23-year reign on the Las Vegas Strip, the original O’Sheas closed in the spring of 2012 to make room for The LINQ, Caesars Entertainment’s $550 million outdoor retail, dining and entertainment district. The original O’Sheas enjoyed a strong following and was beloved by tourists and locals alike. The reimagined space features elements of the original Strip-side casino where guests will once again be able to enjoy blackjack, beer pong and live entertainment in a welcoming and fun environment.

Guests at the ceremony celebrated with custom hats, beads and commemorative beer mugs. In traditional O’Sheas spirit, the festivities continued with a beer pong match between Thomas and The Quad’s headliner Jeff Civillico, who took the win.

Not shy of the spotlight, the original O’Sheas was featured on the big screen and even the Guinness World Book of Records. Popular rock band, Imagine Dragons, began their thriving career at O’Sheas while “Vegas Vacation” starring Chevy Chase took O’Sheas to the big screen. In 2001, the bar set a world record for the largest nationwide toast in history.

Although the brand new location offers a fresh start, the original O’Sheas is deeply rooted in the architecture .The original marquee has been refurbished and stands at The LINQ side entrance, while a hand-painted mural of the first O’Sheas adorns the Lucky Bar, and iconic hammered-tin ceiling tiles serve as a decorative finish on the acoustic panels throughout the space.

While keeping the traditional Irish roots alive, O’Sheas provides daily entertainment including live bands, Disc Jockeys and an interactive juke box to please every crowd. The 5,000-square foot space houses 11 table games, 15 video poker spaces, six beer pong tables, and three bars – Lucky Bar, Dublin Up Bar and the outdoor Blarney Bar. With value-priced drinks available all day long, including the house specialty, the whiskey-infused Irish Margarita, $3 draft beers and daily drink specials, O’Sheas will once again be the most beloved Irish-themed casino and bars on the Las Vegas Strip.

Its good that they are trying to keep the spirit of O'Sheas alive, even if its now just part of the Quad. I will see it myself pretty soon, but they need to put back the strip sidewalk poker tables for this to be official.

My thoughts exactly. I don't hear any mention of live poker whatsoever.
I loved that spread limit game and watching the flow of the folks walking the strip, especially on Halloween.

That O'Sheas sidewalk poker game drew a crowd. Nothing special about the Quad poker room, too bad they did'nt try to incorporate their room into O'Sheas somehow, but people remember that strip sidewalk game.
