Thread: Atlantic City casinos

    Default Atlantic City casinos

Why are there no books for Atlantic City? It is very hard to find discount coupons for any buffets of shows in Atlantic City. Why isn't there a Atlantic City Advisor like Las Vegas Advisor. I am sure there are a number of people interested in Atlantic City just like Las Vegas.

I believe it's just a matter of business policy that the Atlantic City casinos don't like to offer coupons.

There are fewer casinos and most are controlled by Harrah's which is another problem.

Is it true that Harrahs has been sold? If so, do you think there will be changes for the better?

Harrahs management bought the company to make it private - same as the the Fertitta family did with the Station Casinos. Expect Harrahs to sell properties, lay off workers, and do everything they can to reduce the humongous debt they have acquired in an attempt to make those executives at the top even richer.

I was recently was down in Atlantic City. At the time, the Tropicana, was giving away a bunch of coupons. I don't about now. Anyway, there is a site I belong to regarding AC. It's Atlanticcityone.com.

Perhaps the only time I might be interested in returning to Atlantic City is when the City Council votes to BAN smoking in the casinos. It is not permitted in any place in the city except the casinos; absolutlely absurd and ridiculous.

That 25% law about separating smokers is an absolute joke. How many times have I seen smokers in the non-smoking section is countless. The fact is that there are more non-smokers than smokers yet they appease the smoking clientele; I don't understand this.

The issue about smokers not frequenting the casino is absurd. It may be temporary but they will eventually return; trust me. The bottom line is that is good for their health. Ciao.

When you play in AC, sign up at each place you play for a player card. You will then receive mailings each month w/comps, etc. Also, you will receive mailings of give aways, etc as they come out. I never pay for food or parking while there, and have gone to several comp shows.

It is now a done deal. The City Council of Atlantic City recently voted 9-0 for a complete smoking ban in all the casinos. If they wish, they may provide an unstaffed enclosed smoking lounge for lighting up. This ban will take effect on October 15, 2008. Excellent decision!

In whose opinion ?? Yours ?

Let's just say I'll NEVER go to AC again !!

Haven't you read the latest reports ? Cancer is in the GENES--you have it or you don't !

I'd rather play next to a considerate smoker than some overweight Italian, or other, on the verge of Diabetes who's condition is forcing higher medical costs. Have I tried a political fix to that ?

Before I go, do ya think DRIVE THRU restaurants make you waste gas ? Yet, you'll complain about higher gas costs ? Do you also realize how much EACH state's make on SALES TAX on the extra DOLLAR in gas cost compared to last year ? You'll hear them say higher taxes cause we're going broke, but fail to mention they're raking in a Million per day. Think about it--6% or so on a 10 gallon fill-up is 60 cents for 10 gallons,& how many cars/trucks will get 10 gallons each DAY ??

I disgressed, I feel AC & other venues will lose income & raise local taxes at some point. Has AC ever FIXED the ghettos 2 blocks west with all their casino money or is it still a ghetto ?

I'm not done yet as this issue is not settled til I give my full opinion. TO COME.
