Random Payouts on Slot Machines?

I haven't been in a casino in five years. So I was surprised to get a letter from Harlow's casino in Mississippi for two nights free. It has beautiful rooms by the way.

Anyway, they have these slot machines that have 5-10-25 cents. So you ask what is the big deal? Well I kept track of what I put in the machines. I was always told the machine have random payouts. Not true at all.

When I was playing nickels I would get a pay back every four spins, dimes eight spins and quarters twelve spins. The machine was keeping track of how much money was going in, so it knew what to payout. Nothing random at all.

Next to me a service tech showed up to fix a machine, he opened the door and inside were two meters. One read amount in, the other set for amount pay out.

The amount set for payout was 200,000 and the coin in read 17,523. I guess that machine will payout in 2010 maybe. So please don't tell me anymore of this random payout junk.

I asked the machine tech about it and he said you weren't suppose to see that, I could lose my job. Well guess what, the secret is out.

Every slot machine has an internal meter that shows the amount of coins that went into the machine and also the amount that were paid out.

That is necessary for accounting purposes. Otherwise, there would be no way to know how much each machine won (or lost).

Slot machines do not work on a pre-determined scale to pay out every four spins, eight spins or 12 spins. If they did that, it would be rather easy for people to know when to bet maximum coins on a machine.

Every spin on a slot machine is pure random chance as to whether or not you win.

If you thought you noticed a pattern I can assure you that it was a coincidence. There is no way to tell when a slot machine will pay out.

Turningstone in New York,?? Was told by 4 diff players while playing v.p. that these are in banks of machines comp. controlled. I must admit that playing these machines vs others every play there was quit a pause between hitting the deal and the cards coming up. Could this and other casinos getting like the racinos?? with the comp controlling the play??

Is it possible that the machines referred to are acutally VIDEO LOTTERY TERMINALS? They are not true video poker machines such as those using a RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR. If they are VLT'S, stay away.
