How to get around Las Vegas without a rental car?

Nobody asked me, that is true. But I wish the American Casino Guide would have some articles on how to get to a casino without a rental car, especially when the way to do that fits a frugal budget.

For example, I seem to get some sense after searching that I could fly into Tunica airport and get a shuttle to the casinos. But most of my information is very old and even with an hour or so on the internet, I can't really figure it out.

Perhaps the airport is no longer functional.
I also checked into a Louisiana Casino called Paragon not far from New Orleans. It offers some good poker rates on rooms. I can't figure how I might get there without a rental.

Or the casinos at Lake Charles, LA. I can see that I can take a Greyhound from New Orleans, but I don't have a sense of how I get from the airport to the greyhound station or how close the greyhound comes to the casinos.

Buses and other frugal forms of transportation seem to be ignored on every board, everywhere. Even for Vegas little is done to show folks how cheap and easy it is to hop a local bus and to suggest trips that might take advantage of that.

My next trip at Terribles, for example, gets me rooms for $29 a night with $25 freeplay (see website) and puts me right on the Flamingo bus route so I can easily get to Palms, Rio, Gold Coast, Sam's Town in less than a half hour and for pocket change.

It took me a long while to figure the local routes like 105 and 108 in Vegas or to see how easy it was to go to Fiesta and Texas Station on the 106. And just last month I found a way to go from Terribles to Laughlin on a shuttle cheaper than a rental car, ($90 round trip)

Yet, I have been on discussion boards every day for years. I have no way to figure what frugal bus routes might be available in any of the other places in the country. If I knew, I would fly there.

So I would welcome posts that said, 'Here is how a low roller gets to ??? casino.'

And I would think this would make a useful article for the next ACG. The audience is a frugal audience, or they would not buy a book of coupons. There must be people who would love to buy a book that outlined some methods of trying new casinos on the cheap and without a rental car. And certainly such an article could replace one of the articles that repeats itself each year.

Like I said, nobody asked me. But doesn't this sound like a good idea?
