Does anyone know if Nevada casinos have to give you a win loss statement by law? How about casinos in California located on Indian land?

Re: Win/Loss Statements
You can get one if you request them. If you had a very large win ($1,200 or more)the casino must file that with the IRS so you need to declare that money for tax purposes.
If you have enough wins in a years time, you might want to get win/loss statements so you can be certain you can write off your losses that equal your total wins for that year. Otherwise the IRS if they audit you, can ask to see verification of your losses that washed your winnings for that tax year.
Its always good to have proof just in case.

Re: Win/Loss Statements
Well let us see...
There are Federal W2-Gs and even 1099s.
No Federal numbers for Wins and Losses based upon a Casino Gambling Year.
They are usually goofed-up anyway. They do not meet the gambling log standard...even if issued.
So why do you ask?

Re: Win/Loss Statements
Thank you Mr. Bourie and iam4jacks for your response...iam4jacks----there are 2 reasons for my question. 1) When a slot director of a casino tells you he does not have to give you a win/loss statement, you'd like to know if he's lying to you 2) almost all casinos give you a coin in - coin out with your win/loss which is what I want and is what generated my pursuit. I do not like casinos or anyone gathering information on me that I do not have a right to have access to. Also, the gaming industry will always have black cloud over it....the double standard of them having to report a W2G win but not required to give you a win/loss does not help this cloud....but that won't stop me from being entertained by video poker!!!
