LAUGHLIN, NEV. - New Year’s Eve revelers are invited to Harrah’s Laughlin Casino & Hotel to kick off 2011, Harrah’s-style. Out on the casino floor on New Year’s Eve, Harrah’s guests will be showered by a brilliant whirl of color as balloons drop at the stroke of 12. Minutes prior to midnight, guests will receive party hats, horns, noisemakers and serpentines to help kick off the celebration.
The celebration continues with special New Years menus at the award-winning Range Steakhouse, the Fresh Market Square Buffet, the Beach Café and Baja Blue Restaurant & Cantina.
Guests may start the count down to the New Year at the Range Steakhouse offering a special menu on Dec. 31, 2010 starting with an appetizer of diver scallops wrapped in apple wood smoked bacon served with key lime cilantro sauce followed by a choice of Range house salad or Caesars salad. A delectable entrée of honey and ancho chile glazed veal chop and coconut lobster tail is served with a pea and butternut squash risotto, wax beans and haricot vert. A specially-prepared dessert made by the Range pastry chef completes the meal. The New Years Eve special menu is $65 a person and served from 4 p.m. – 11 p.m. The regular Range Steakhouse menu will also be available. A New Years Day Brunch will be offered at the Range Steakhouse from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Jan. 1, 2011 for $39.99 per person. The brunch will be served buffet-style offering crepes with assorted fillings, made to order omelets, split Alaskan King Crab legs, chilled shrimp, Dungeness crab cakes, sliced tenderloin, Carpaccio Eggs Benedict, Monterey chicken, and slow roasted prime rib. A selection of salads, assorted breads, fruits, imported cheeses and desserts such as chocolate covered long-stemmed strawberries, homemade bread pudding, assorted miniature desserts, cakes and pastries complete the buffet selection. In addition to the current extensive menu, diners will find slow-roasted Black Angus prime rib and Tom turkey, mango-habanero pork loin, all carved to order, along with steak au poivre, crispy duck, roasted whole chicken with citrus spice and lemon sauce, beef roast with marsala sauce, shrimp scampi with spinach fettuccine, oysters Rockefeller, crab legs, salmon filets with mango roasted pineapple relish, and swordfish steaks with Creole sauce. An assortment of hors d’oeuvres such as miniature chicken cordon blue, clams casino, calamari with garlic aioli and crab cakes with Cajun remoulade along with trimmings, soups and salads add to the holiday meal.
