TR SNIPPET: CLAUDINE CASTRO SPANISH MUSIC
While I am a bit miffed at the Eastside Cannery’s Webpass program. Vegas Adventures: TR SNIPPET EASTSIDE CANNERY WEBPASS A DISAPPOINTMENT I have never been disappointed with the Claudine Castro Latin Lounge Act that starts at 10 PM on Monday nights although I don’t have enough fluid Spanish to catch much of the meaning of the lyrics of the songs. It is like walking into a slice of the American Latino community and most of the show, the banter, and even table conversation is in Spanish, so it is an emersion experience. I am not familiar with the songs selected, but the audience knows them and in some way they are popular.
Dancing happens in the corner dance floor. My salsa is very bad, so generally I am just too shy to dance, but on my third visit board friend Elsa from Amsterdam came along and so I did get to do a bit of dancing and we were even invited in to dance in the center of a community circle on that dance floor.
Most of the community knows one another and they know Claudine. It is fine to see the friendly hellos and hugs and hear the banter.
I can’t seem to make it past two sets anymore, all the way to 2 AM. Perhaps sometime I will just have a room there on Monday night and stay the distance. This trip I left at 12:30 each visit and took a bus back downtown or walked over to Sam’s Town.
The BHX has a stop right in front of the casino on Boulder. It is not the express, but it does not take too long to get to downtown.
