  • Fort Hall Casino: Sadly going downhill..

I've been going to Fort Hall for the last couple of years a few times a year with my good friend.. The past 3-4 months the casino has seen fit to not only do away with many of the older, more traditional slots, but has made sure the new ones they have put in place of those machines have been 'tightened' up to the point of seldom paying off for anyone.. I never minded playing the older slots because I could play most of the day on $60-$70 dollars (including having a nice lunch).. I never really won much, I think the most I ever went home with was $10 up.. Mostly I lost, but I, at least, felt I was getting my money's worth by winning small jackpots to keep me going!

Now, the new machines, when you win 3 of a kind, return less then half of your input.. Many pay out less then 9 cents!! Now I realize all casinos are in the business of getting your money, but come on, folks, if you don't allow your machines to give you a decent jackpot once in awhile, why the heck should anyone play at all?

I know I'm certainly not going down as often and, I guess, I'm hardly alone as I've noticed a distinct fall off especially on week-days when I usually would go.

I guess it all says it's sad that greed runs so rampant everywhere, even in a tiny little casino, that the owners would just as soon cut off their noses to spite their face to get even more money.. They don't yet know they've only hurt themselves with their actions, but I do know this, not one of my circle of friends is much interested in going down there anymore.

Like me, the fun was in the time spent with the money you went to play with, something that no longer lasts even a couple of hours on their 'new' machines..
Hence, my rating has now dropped to a big, fat 1 for Fort Hall.. Though I must state this rating guide is very poorly designed.. Many casinos do not have table games, player's clubs, hotels/amenities and the like, so forcing one to add a 1 for those non-existent services is ludicrous..
