What the Newport Grand website depicted was far from the truth. We were expecting a casino with a fun atmosphere, good food and good time, but we were very wrong. When we arrived the outside looked like a warehouse, the only indication that it was a casino was the "Slots" sign on the side of the building. The parking lot was deserted the inside of the casino was a ghost town (and this was a Saturday afternoon). We saw possibly a total of 10 employees (all looking bored out of their minds) and about 75 people playing the games.
The buffet they advertise on the website could hardly be considered a buffet as it was 3 folding tables with trays and warmers and about 12 dining tables. The snack bars looked like they sold things found at a convenience store and no one was sitting at the bar. Aside from the main gaming room, the majority of the rooms were empty. Also slots did not pay out. We stayed maybe a total of 30 minutes and left. Overall the Newport Grand was pitiful and we won't be returning.
