Re: Four Winds in New Buffalo, MI
I live just 9 miles from Four Winds and closer then that to Blue Chip Casino. The Chip will still be my casino.
The 4W is huge. I play 25 cent slots and they were hard to find. It is rather dark in there, lighting not good. Some sections of rows of machines were so close together, that there was barely enough room to walk between them. I had my knees right up to the base of the machine and people were still bumping into the oversized slot machine chair.
Great variety of machines. We will go again in the next 2-3 weeks to have another look around.
The buffett was awesome! It is $11.00 for lunch and $18.00 for dinner. Their plated up desserts looked like works of art.
I don't know where you are coming from, but I think it is worth the trip. When you step into the door, look up. There is this enormous piece of hand crafted stained glass that looks like an upside down tepee. It is beautiful.
Sign up for a card and they will credit your account with $10.00. Good luck.

Re: Four Winds in New Buffalo, MI
I definitely like Four Winds much better than Blue Chip. The penny slots pay much better and the staff is much more polite and caring. The only thing about Four Winds that was a little hard the first time was that many of the games were new to me, so I had to figure out what I wanted to play rather than just hunting my old favorites. My previous favorite casino was Ho Chunk (Wisconsin Dells) but that was an 8 hour drive each way (expensive gas bill for RV) and Four Winds is only an hour. It is much easier to get to than Blue Chip because you don't have to go through Michigan City -- Four Winds is right off I94.

Chester:
How is the rv parking at Four Winds? We were just up at HoChunk and parked in the back lot. It was nice and level and no trucks around.
My brother lives in Chesterton and we are hoping to get over there soon with him. We are just less than 3 hours to the Dells and, depending on traffic, about 3 to 4 hours to Four Winds.

Re: Four Winds in New Buffalo, MI
The RV parking at Four Winds is great -- level and with/without trucks depending on which lot you choose. The 'oversized' lot comes first as you enter -- this lot has you entering the casino through the main lobby.
If you choose this lot, be sure to take the time to look up from the porch -- it represents up-side-down canoes and is very pretty (not to mention the gorgeous lobby with its stained glass).
It is about the same distance as the lot you talked about at Ho Chunk from the casino. The other lot says 'RV' and you enter through the parking garage entrance -- it is closer to the building and much more convenient if there is a possibility of rain (mostly all under cover). There were no trucks in this lot.

I'm in central IL. and we go to the Blue Chip several times a year and I would like to go to the Four Winds, could some one tell me how you get there or do you know an address for it then I could look it up on mapquest. I know I94 though IN+MI.

Hi Karen:
Not sure where you are in Central Illinois, but Four Winds is east of Blue Chip. It is at exit #1 off I-94. You can go on their website for more info. It's www.fourwindscasino.com
