  • Casino Royale & Hotel: One of a kind

We visited this little place over the Presidents' Day weekend. We stayed at the Flamingo and this casino was nearby. When we spoke to the players club rep, we asked if it was owned by Harrah's (they own almost all the real estate mid-strip). She said that Harrah's would like to own them but that they were private and family owned - a rare thing on the LV strip.

They are smack dab in the middle of a long line of Harrah's properties, so they are kind of like the old man who won't sell the farm. I really hope they stay in business - need more independent businesses. The fun book had good coupons. We got to use the $25 bonus on a Double Double Bonus VP 4-of-a kind. We had barely sat down when a friendly cocktail server offered us drinks. They have fantastic craps game, one table with 25X odds and one with 100X odds. The craps tables were crowded, noisy and FUN! Everyone was winning. We bet small ($5 pass line w/ $10-$25 odds) and came away with an extra $180. We did not eat - it's just a food court inside with an Outback attached. We found this little place to be charming and unique. We will definitely return.
