The Boothil Casino and Resort:
The casino in Dodge City is small. With that said keep in mind that this is only the first phase of a large project for the town. By the end of 2011 the location will have several places to eat, a spa, the hotel will be built, and the casino floor will be doubled.
I found out that the place was very clean (Have only visited during the day). I did not need customer service, but I did observe some times where they could of been a little more supportive with some customers.
There were plenty of slot machines there with a decent variety. I would of liked to see more video poker machines (only located in the "saloon" area).
The staff running the tables seemed to know what they were doing, but did not seem totally comfortable. They seemed to be focusing more on making sure they didn't screw up (which is always good).
I did eat at the restaurant once. The restaurant was not great and the wait staff did not seem very attentive. To top it all off the food was what I considered below par.
To sum everything up. The Boothill Casino is what I believe a great start for the town of Dodge City. There was a lot of people who seemed as if they were new to gambling. I ended up helping a lot of elderly people and new gamblers explaining how some of the games worked. It did seem like everyone gambling there was in a good mood and extremely friendly, which made me feel like I was at home. I enjoyed my trips there.
