The description of the Black Hawk Ameristar casino and hotel is WAY out of date. They have built and completed a huge new hotel tower with many floors and first class rooms, probably making it the largest hotel in Black Hawk. The buffet has always been first class, the finest in the area. In addition, the Ameristar has also opened a new restaurant on the upper level, plus remodeling the ones on the lower level. Gambling areas have been expanded to a newly opened floor on the second level, which goes around the entire perimeter of the casino, with slots filling about 3/4 of it. The downstairs now accommodates many gaming tables as well a large quantity of slots.
