  • Casino Express: Not bad for a travel center casino

We frequently play the slots here early in the morning (open 24 hours Thursday through Sunday) and there are very few customers around, thus not much smoke. Our definition of good luck is to come close to breaking even after a couple of hours -- we have better luck here than at the "parent" casino, Inn of the Mountain Gods. The slot machines are of a good variety, enough to keep you entertained with different games. Table games are available, but we tend not to engage in them. Parking is good, with a short walk to the front door (important in the winter as Ruidoso is a ski-resort mountain town). We have eaten breakfast and lunch at the in-casino restaurant. The food was nothing special and the service was slow. Prices also were a little high for what one expects at a casino. FYI, gas prices are usually a penny cheaper that what the stations in town charge, and that is relatively high. Buy your gas down the hill in Tularosa (west) or in Roswell (east).
