Ive only been to Gun Lake Casino one time and wont rush to go back. They bragged before opening about having the newest and greatest air filtration system installed. Wrong ! I returned home smelling like an ashtray. I had dinner at the restaurant since it was my first time going there. You would think a casino would offer low prices on food to entice gamblers to show up. Nope. For a burger, fries, and drink expect to pay $10. No low prices on the menu like I was hoping for. It was hard to enjoy the slots with an older guy smoking a stinky cigar right beside me. Where was the air filtration ? Apparently not strong enough. The casino is so small that a no smoking section wouldn't work, since the smoke would just fill up the entire gaming floor including any nonsmoking section. At least Soaring Eagle has a non smoking section so the smell isn't as bad. It didn't take long for me to spend all of my money on the slots and walk away empty handed. The last time I went with a friend to Soaring Eagle I won $8 on slots (better than losing it all) and my friend won $200. I will go back to Soaring Eagle before Gun Lake even if it is twice as far away for me.
