  • Sandia Resort & Casino: Vegas style casino in Albuquerque

My wife and I stopped in at this casino on a recent swing through New Mexico in Sept. We had visited the place a couple of years before so were aware of its location and decor. The place really resembles a Vegas casino and is well designed, colorful, and very attractive. However, the slots really don't pay anything so go there for the ambiance because you won't win any money. The pool area is really nice and and I would have liked to visit one of the rooms but didn't take the time. I would think that this casino would be a really nice destination for a weekend or a couple of days off, as they have entertainment along with all the casino ammenities and several restauants. We did not eat there so cannot comment on the food but it's really a beautiful casino and from what I read, the largest in New Mexico. Would spend a weekend there if I had the opportunity for a little R & R.
