  • Flamingo Las Vegas: Good casino, terrible hotel

Except for the dreaded 6-5 blackjacks, the casino is ok. The buffet is decent, not as great as Planet Hollywood but not as bad as Excalibur. There is a nice koi pond on the way to the pool. The hotel. Oh where to begin. The parking garage is way in the back. And the elevators in the garage are so slow, you just decide to carry your luggage down the stairs. People complain about how far the monorail is from the casino. The monorail is closer than the parking garage. Then once you get inside, the check-in is ridiculously long. It doesn't matter what time of day it is. The floors upstairs are so large that once you get off the elevator you still have what seems a half-mile walk to your room.I will stay somewhere else and will usually play here for a little bit. It the hotel was nicer, I might even play more.
