  • Rising Star Casino Resort: Not that impressive...

Rising Star's slots are a wee bit above average, compared to Belterra, Hollywood and Hoosier Park.I don't play table games, but have heard they are average.Customer service is poor - slot attendants take forever to assist you, upper management and hosts are arrogant and smarmy, security spends most of their time making snide comments about patrons to one another, player's club personnel is inept and ill-trained and treat any information you try to pry out of them as if it's top secret information. The gaming atmosphere is non-existent during the week - most of the patrons are refugees from the nursing home, sitting around in their wheel chairs with their oxygen tanks waiting for the end to come. Things don't get a whole lot better on weekends - there's more noise, but most patrons are not impressed with the amount of play they get for their money. Most drawing winners are from Cincinnati or - surprise! - Rising Sun.The hotel room carpeting is nasty dirty and room decor is about thirty years behind the times. I wasn't particularly surprised when we found bedbugs on a recent visit. The food and drink in the players lounge is literally the same stuff every day - the buffet is somewhat better, but way overpriced for what they offer. The only place for patrons to get a self-service drink is clear up on the fourth floor, although there are bars on the first and second levels.

Sounds just like the Rising Sun casino. New owners, same old, same old.
