  • Boyd Gaming Announces $300,000 American Cowboy Chute-Out Contest in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS — Teaming up with one of America’s biggest names for fans of rodeo and the Western lifestyle, Boyd Gaming today announced the $300,000 American Cowboy Chute-Out Contest – a free online rodeo contest sponsored by American Cowboy magazine.

A new twist on the promise of “A New Way to Rodeo,” the American Cowboy Chute-Out Contest will give rodeo fans around the world a chance to win up to $100,000 cash – and free buckets of beer -- during each day of the CINCH Boyd Gaming Chute-Out, scheduled for December 10-12 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

“We set out to create a truly unique rodeo experience with the CINCH Boyd Gaming Chute-Out, something interactive and entertaining for casual and veteran rodeo fans alike,” said Chris Gibase, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Boyd Gaming. “The American Cowboy Chute-Out Contest is an entertaining way for rodeo fans around the world to get right into the action – and get a free shot at up to $300,000 in cash.”

“Once we heard about the Boyd Gaming Chute-Out, we couldn’t wait to get involved,” said DeAnna Jarnagin, Associate Editor for American Cowboy. “We are honored to be the name sponsor of the $300,000 American Cowboy Chute-Out Contest, and we look forward to working with our partners at Boyd Gaming in creating ‘A New Way to Rodeo.’”

Starting Thursday, December 3, rodeo fans can register at BoydChuteOut.com – or through the official Boyd Gaming Chute-Out smartphone app – to participate in the contest. After completing a free registration, fans then make their predictions for winning contestants and predicted scores. Each round will be available for selection up until 30 minutes before action begins each day.

Fans can track the performance of their predictions in real time through another Chute-Out innovation – rodeo’s first-ever automated “Day Sheet,” where results will be immediately posted online following the conclusion of each event.

The $300,000 American Cowboy Contest is designed to be a fun and entertaining event, where any rodeo fan correctly predicting the winners of all seven events during each day’s action -- along with the exact time or score of the event -- will win part of the daily cash prize of $100,000. But that’s not all.

“We know that correctly guessing all seven winners and scores is not an easy task, so we are also giving away 15,000 buckets of beer!” Gibase said. “The top 5,000 fans that can guess the daily winning contestant in each round, regardless of score, will receive a coupon for a free bucket of beer, redeemable at the Legendary Buck ‘N Ball at The Orleans that same night.”

The CINCH Boyd Gaming Chute-Out app for Android and iOS is available for free download through Google Play and the Apple App Store. The $300,000 American Cowboy Contest will be added to the app in early December.

The CINCH Boyd Gaming Chute-Out takes place at the Orleans Arena Dec. 10-12, from 2 to 4 p.m. each day. Tickets start at $20 and are on sale now.
