    (Henderson, NV- December 5, 2016) After 15 years of providing fun as Henderson’s premier entertainment destination, Green Valley Ranch Resort is just getting started.

    As the luxury resort property turns 15 this December, guests will get their first chance to see Green Valley Ranch reimagined. In addition to being the property’s birthday month, December 2016 marks the culmination of Green Valley Ranch Resort’s multimillion dollar reinvestment, which included a new hotel lobby area with all-new lobby bar, Perks coffee bar and added amenities for VIP guests. The property also introduced two new restaurants, unveiled a renovated race and sports book with amazing new screen technology and added more meeting space. The VIP suites remodel is the final piece to be unveiled this month.

    Green Valley Ranch Resort opened Dec. 18, 2001 to a star-studded gala that included the likes of Cindy Crawford and husband, Rande Gerber; Vivica A. Fox; Chloe Sevigny; Slash; Boogie Knights; Johnny Knoxville; Toby Keith; Antonio Banderas; Melanie Griffith; Magic Johnson; Kate Hudson; Chris Robinson; Kenny G; and Sammy Hagar. It opened with 1,200 employees; a 50,000-square-foot casino; 2,500 slots and video poker machines; 200 hotel rooms, seven restaurants, six quick-service eateries, a spa, amphitheater and a 10-screen movie theater.

    Throughout the years, the property underwent significant expansions and reinvestments to maintain its position as a top entertainment destination. In honor of its milestone birthday, several events have been planned throughout December, including:

    ENTERTAINMENT
    Every Friday and Saturday in December, the Drop Bar hosts Way Back When Weekends with a video DJ from 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Bring it back to 2001 with the hits of the day and use #WBWW on social.
    Birthday Rock Shot Bingo: Thursday, Dec. 8 at 9 p.m. Doors open at 8 p.m. It’s bingo meets nightlife at Rock Shot. The 15th birthday game will feature a DJ, glow necklaces, party hats, shots, birthday cupcakes and prizes for winners. For $25, guests can play 10 electronic games.
    GAMING
    $20,000 Wishes of Riches Cash Giveaway at Green Valley Ranch Resort: Green Valley Ranch Resort invites guests to get richer this December with the $20,000 Wishes of Riches Cash Giveaway. Top prize is $15,000. Earn entries now on all your favorite slot and table games through Dec. 18 for the cash drawing to be held at 6:15 p.m. on Dec. 18. Earn five times entries on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays before the drawing. One top slot and one top video poker point earner get automatic drawing entry. Winners must be present.

    Commemorative 15th birthday gaming chips: $5 commemorative gaming chips are in circulation at all table games throughout the month, and a limited quantity will be available for purchase at the cashier’s cage.

    $15K Birthday Bash Giveaway: Earn entries weekly until Dec. 24 at 7:29 p.m. by playing table games and winning specific hands. Earn two times entries every Sunday and Monday in December. Drawings happen Fridays and Saturdays in December at 7:30 p.m., and five winners must be present to win within two minutes to select a gift. Winners can receive an iPad Pro, cash or promotional chips.

    $1,500 Weekly Keno Tournament: Break the Bank through Jan. 1 with GVR’s weekly keno tournament. Ten winners will be named, and first place wins $1,000 each week. Earn entries from Thursdays 8 a.m.-Sundays 6 p.m. Registration is free and winners are determined by the largest accumulation of winnings on qualifying tickets by registered players.

    Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis: Throughout December, guests may enjoy a T-bone steak special for $100 per person that includes a shared bottle of wine and a signature 42-ounce T-bone steak, steakhouse salads, two sides and a chocolate soufflé. A two-person minimum is required to enjoy this special.
    15th Birthday pastries: Throughout December in the Grand Cafe, special birthday pastries will be available for sale in the pastry case.
    15th Birthday cocktails: The Drop Bar and Sip are featuring the Birthday Special, made with Belvedere vodka, Cointreau, fresh sweet & sour, and lime juice. Available for $15 in a limited edition commemorative martini glass.

    The Drop Bar is also featuring the Crystal Package. For $15, guests receive two domestic beers, either Bud Light, Budweiser or Michelob Ultra; two champagne drinks made with Moet Chandon; and two birthday bomb shots made with Belvedere and Redbull.
    HOTEL AND SPA
    15th Birthday hotel room discount: GVR is offering guests a buy one night get the second night at $15 in December on select dates.

    15th Birthday Quinceanera packages: Guests can book a Quinceanera by Dec. 31 and get 10 percent off catering plus complimentary banquet room rental when you turn 15 with GVR. Contact 702-617-7788 for more information.

    15th Birthday spa and salon specials: guests may redeem using whisper code GVR15 for a free paraffin with any 80-minute pedicure or a free deep conditioning service with any color service. The spa is offering $15 enhancements for all 50-minute or 80-minute treatments.

    GREEN VALLEY RANCH RESORT FUN FACTS:
    1. Dec. 18, 2001: GVR opens to the public with a star-studded gala as the first off-Strip luxury casino resort.
    2. 2004: Discovery Channel’s “American Casino” filming is underway, and becomes a three-season success, showcasing behind the scenes looks at running a major casino-hotel. At the time, reality shows were still a novelty.
    3. April 2004: The District at Green Valley Ranch opens, adding retail and dining options adjacent to the property.
    4. Dec. 2004: Phase II of the property opens after a $125 million expansion, adding a second hotel tower with 296 hotel rooms and additional meeting space.
    5. February 2005: Sports Illustrated names Green Valley Ranch’s sports book bar the ninth best sports bar in the nation.
    6. Spring 2007: Phase III of the property opens after a $110 million expansion with an added parking garage on Paseo Verde, a new race and sports book, poker room, Tide’s and more meeting space.
    7. 2007: Green Valley Ranch receives the AAA Four Diamond rating.
    8. 2007: Hell’s Kitchen Season Three set at GVR. The winner, Chef Rock Harper, comes to work at GVR as part of his national win.
    9. July 2008: Michael Grimm plays at GVR before going on America’s Got Talent, where he becomes the $1 million winner in 2010.
    10. Sept. 2010: GVR wins Casino of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Also in 2010, Michael Grimm returns to GVR to play a thank you concert after winning America’s Got Talent.
    11. 2012: GVR is named a Choice Property by Fodor’s Travel.
    12. June 2013: GVR’s new bingo room opened, followed by a live, 16-seat keno room in March 2014.
    13. April 2014: $20 million renovation project announced to include new restaurants, hotel upgrades and more.
    14. December 2016: Green Valley Ranch Resort unveils completion of $20 million renovation project.
    15. Today, Green Valley Ranch Resort employs 1,720 team members. Of that number, 157 team members have been with the property since opening day.
