Re: Fantasy Springs Casino, Indio, CA - caught tampering with a Video Poker Machine

We have been contacted by George Munoz who has been trying for 2 weeks to register and post on this thread. Since he has been unsuccessful, he has asked us to post for him.

He told us, he recently read an article in his local paper about how many of the casinos in the Palm Springs area are suffering, but especially Fantasy Springs Casino. The article went on to mention a few incidents that have happened at FS, which have contributed to their exceptional decline. It also mentioned the possibility of some casinos closing in the desert.

Hopefully, George will be able to fully register and give more details.

Best of LUCK to Everyone in 2013!

Whenever you are dealing with a "tribal gaming commission" about anything, you are an underdog. I would prefer a commercial casino every time I play.

Thanks to DougB . . .we will check it out. And @ scrappy, we couldn’t agree with you more. In fact, we never went back to Fantasy Springs Casino, or any Indian casino, ever again, mainly because of the way the tribal gaming commission handled this complaint.

Just a quick update. . .FS is living up to their commitment to eliminate video poker from their gaming floor. They only have 7 games. Maybe the new management will consider this move, unwise.

Interesting thread. Thanks for all the attention to this issue, all the work and frustration, and for sharing it with us. I am seeing that there were over 9.000 hits. That ought to wake up someone in charge.

                Hi Dewey,

We have read many a post by you and they have always been interesting and informative. Thank you for making your comments on this post and we're sorry it took us so long to reply. As we mentioned when this first happened, we have never entered that casino again. But friends of ours play there. They said things have changed dramatically, so we'll try to keep that in mind. Thanks again for your thoughts and encouragement. JJ & C

Well, I am longer yet to respond. I started in Vegas over Halloween, went to Denver, then to Chicago and was off line all that while. Just getting caught up. Thanks for the comment. I'll be working on some new posts with reflections from my trip.

While watching the "Price is Right," recently, Fantasy Springs Hotel and Casino, was one of the prizes that was offered.

Obviously, the casino does not like its location in Indio, CA and deliberately lied to the marketing department at the Price is Right, claiming they were located in Palm Springs, CA. . . a much more desirable location.

Because we have seen buildings be moved, or demolished, and rebuilt somewhere else, we decided to make sure they didn't move, so we called the reservation department. We were informed by the young lady, that they would love to be in Palm Springs, but they are still in Indio. . . .oh well! The young lady was unaware, that the Indian tribe in the Palm Springs area, Agua Caliente, would not be happy with that move. We also were informed, that they would never get away with that again.

At our homeowners meeting, since we do not watch the "Price is Right" everyday, we were informed by a member, that in the last two weeks, Fantasy Springs Hotel & Casino, Indio, CA, has once again been deceitfully advertised as being located in Palm Springs, CA. The next town south of Palm Springs, is Cathedral City which is about a 10 minute drive. Fantasy Springs is 25 miles south of Palm Springs and about a 40 minute drive and there are six towns between them. Why Palm Springs?
