  • Venetian new player sign up $25 bonus

I had some friends in Las Vegas Jully 11 - 18. They tried to use the $25 Venetian new player sign up and were told that the Venetian had discontinued the coupon due to coupon abuse.

How can you abuse a new player sign up? If the person has the coupon and the card and doesn't have a Venetian player's card, don't they meet the requirements?

There was some abuse of the coupon, but it is being accepted if you are a non-Nevada resident.

So now I'm curious, were they trying to use your book or theirs?

What pisses me off is that they always offer a new sign up an incentive, and disregarde their loyal customer base.

Guess it works but I signed up for a players card there about ten years ago or so on line and NEVER used it so that will more than likely disqualify me.

Is it worth my time to even go there to check it out? Their gambling sux anyway. The rooms are nice but what good are they if you have to put up with high limits and crappy returns.

If you are already a member of the slot club you are not eligible to use the coupon.

OK, $25 dollar slot credits. To be used how? Slots only? Video Poker? Can you just cash out and run, or TITO and stick that in a VP machine?

          Are there "Designated" machines?

Makes me wonder. Doesn't really say the particulars of usage. Anyone know?

So, why the abuse? It would seem that if one could just cash out the credits then bingo, $25 bucks. Or, if it's like most other casinos you have to play through the $25 to cash out, assuming you hit enough (or one) jackpot equal to $25 and then cashed out.

          Not likely at the Venetian.

Not unlike so many other casinos that run a promotion and find players that will figure a way to beat them out of a couple of bucks God forbid!

I mean, what's the point of a promotion if it has no value added for the player?

Now, I can see some locals buying ten or more ACG books from Wal-Mart and going around and taking every imaginable advantage of them.

Then, having every friend that comes in from out of town play a coupon or two out of their book, as some are only good for out of state players and new sign ups.

That wouldn't surprise me. If anyone is doing that then you're just cutting your own throat and ours too. Coupons, match plays, and casino promotions will become extinct.

Recently they checked my signature on the back of the ACG membership card against my players card to verify it WAS my book. Hmmmmm? Are they catching on?

Having known pit bosses and casino staff in Vegas, they have seen and heard every kind of scam and jack known to man and they get pretty jaded over the years.

          I don't doubt their skepticism.

Hopefully, since it was ten years ago and I never got or used the card I'm golden. I'll be sure to go out of my way to hurry over to the Venetian to find out. If they had some other incentives I might go for it.

Guess I could call tthe player club to see if they have me on file.

Doesn't "Club Grazie" cover some other casinos as well?

As far as I know, you can use the freeplay ony machines you desire.

Concerning the coupon abuse, I believe that someone was buying a lot of books and bringing in "down on their luck" people to sign up for a card. They would then give the "street" person some money ($5 or $10) and keep the free slot play coupon for themselves.

Unfortunatley, that is why there were problems with the redemption of the coupon.

                Steve,

The local sharps usually bring in their 'friends' in for new player sign ups when it is a significant amount. For $25 in free play, if you have to find a person, pick them up, pay them $10, play your freeplay through, cash out and then drive that person back to their 'home', for a whopping $15? I don't quite buy that one.

If it were a $100 freeplay amount for a new player, I could see it but $25? Venetian has been running that coupon for years. This is the first year they have had this happen? This just doesn't sound quite right.

I would agree that it seems to be a lot for work for such a little amount of money.

However, it is definitely being done because the people from the Venetian have seen it taking place. I certainly have no reason not to believe them.

Spouse and I used our coupons at Venetian and I am proud to say we had no problem.

Steve, it's a real easy problem to fix. Print a number on the ACG card and on every coupon. To redeem the coupon, you need to have a card with the matching number. Easy.
