  • Buffet Coupon at Fiesta Rancho

    Steve,

Tried to use 2/1 at Fiesta Rancho on Friday evening and was told a recent meeting relayed to employees that the coupon must be in the book.

Our best efforts didn't get the coupon accepted.

      Re: Coupon at Fiesta Rancho

Evidently, Fiesta Rancho is requiring users to present the book at the buffet when presenting the 2-for-1 buffet coupon.

We have updated this information on the coupon changes page.

But ... what are we supposed to do, if we have already removed the coupons from the book, as we prepared for an upcoming trip to Vegas ?

I would suggest that you not visit Fiesta Rancho without the book.

They said they were getting counterfeits and this is the only way they thought they could stop the problem.

I have to tell you, I understand the properties can decide that they no longer want to participate. But making people lug around the book. GEEZ! It's not a small book... What a giant pain in the butt.

I'm just not going to visit ANY Fiesta casino this trip, on principle.

Just take the coupon and lay it in the (page) spot you took it from. It will be just like you didn't remove it. When the server asks you for it, open to that page and slide it out. The server won't know the difference. Have your card and everyone will be happy. The only problem is the book is bulky to carry around. You take the good with the bad. Good Luck and enjoy your trip.

Carry around a book does not bug me,The book is not that big,If you do not want to carry it you can always put it in a fanny pack.....

The only reason I carry the book,i always get the one employee what says I need to have it with me...............

                    Re: Coupon at Fiesta Rancho

I have been reading about the coupon problems for the last several months. It is amazing that a business such as a casino will hassle a customer over a buy one get one free buffet coupon. The free buffet is such a small part of the casino's business that risking alienation of a customer makes no sense. I go to Vegas several times a year, I am a medium level player, and I use coupons as much as possible to defray expenses. If a casino ever hassles me about a coupon when I am in line at the buffet I will never go to that casino again. The loss of my action could not possibly be worth the cost of one buffet meal.

a little insight on casino coupons, there are countless forged and zeroxed coupons being used by casino hustlers, with todays laser printers its so easy to duplicate this is the main reason...

But Mike, why is it that only a handful of places are complaining about these alleged forgeries? I don't doubt that it is being done to some extent, but if I were going to forge or copy a coupon, it would sure be for a whole lot better buffet than the one at Fiesta Rancho.

                          Re: Coupon at Fiesta Rancho

So what you saying is there’s money to be made hustling 2 for 1 buffet coupons?

I would think that there is enough of a “profit margin” in the buffet that they could give half price buffets to everyone and not loose money (but then again, I’m not in food services or in the casino industry).

I could see match play coupons could have some affect on casinos but buffet coupons?

                          Please enlighten me.

                          Thank you.

Casinos do not like to get beat, doesn't matter in which way. They see a few bogus coupons and they kill the goose, or the moose because it is their playground and also their ball.

                              Re: Coupon at Fiesta Rancho

Just read through the string of stuff that I started.

There are a total of 3 books in our party. One of them was purchased at Fiesta Rancho. We had our coupons out and ready to use when we were first told we had to have the books. We were staying some 10 miles from Fiesta Rancho and didn't want to traipse back and forth. Two of the coupon users paid full price. I decided not to eat there and left.

Everybody was understandably upset by Fiesta and probably won't go back.

As the string has said, it is sort of incomprehensible why a casino would take such a stance.
