Rooms at Golden Nugget in Las Vegas?

Hi,

We would like to know what the difference is between the south and north towers at the LVGN and if they are worth the extra $78 for the three nights we are planning to stay. What are the pros and cons of each, and are there any non-smoking king rooms that would overlook Fremont St.?

We stayed at this hotel on our honeymoon 15 years ago and will be celebrating our 15th anniversary while we are in Vegas and would like to stay there again. Do you think it's possible to receive a free upgrade since it's our anniversary and we're staying Sunday-Wednesday?

Also, does anyone know of any discounts currently available in any coupon books or e-mail offers?

The main difference is that the south towers are about a 2 block walk from the casino. I don't like it but some don't mind the walk. The south tower would also not overlook Fremont St. I have stayed in both and didn't see a difference in the rooms themselves. Others have said the same.

I would not pay the extra $78 for 3 nights. You could ask for a complimentary upgrade. Mention that it is your anniversary. Or try the $20 trick. Your chances are better since it would be a Sun-Wed. I don't know of any coupons offered by GN.
