  • Jerry’s Nugget Casino Celebrates 50th Anniversarywith Numerous Promotions

Las Vegas – (Jan. 14, 2014) – Jerry’s Nugget Casino celebrates a monumental anniversary, with 50 years of outstanding food, service, exciting entertainment, and gaming. To recognize the special occasion, dozens of anniversary celebrations will be held through November 9 and cash and prizes will be awarded. The kick-off begins Wednesday, Jan. 15 with a proclamation of “Jerry’s Nugget Day” by North Las Vegas Mayor John H. Lee.

In addition to a celebratory 50th anniversary logo, canvas wall art was unveiled throughout the property chronicling momentous occasions throughout the five-decade history. A commemorative $5 gaming chip will soon be introduced and will be used on the casino floor along with a newly-designed deck of playing cards. A signature anniversary cocktail will be available at the Main Bar through 2014. Chef Raul, executive pastry chef, will create a celebratory dessert to commemorate the 50th anniversary. A new website will be unveiled later this year, and a commemorative photo book will launch mid-March; available for purchase in the MoreClub Gift Shop as well as at The Neon Museum.

A large portion of resources will be allocated to employee rewards and promotions, and tenure and loyalty will be recognized as part of the year-long celebration. Ten employees have worked at the casino for more than 30 years, while 21 employees have been at Jerry’s Nugget for more than 20 years. More than 45 employees have been on board for 10-plus years.

With a rich and established history, Jerry’s Nugget has secured an iconic place in Las Vegas. Remaining true to its roots, Jerry’s Nugget has maintained a philosophy of creating a friendly customer-oriented atmosphere with close attention to detail.

“Our reputation has been built on catering to locals,” said Joseph Stamis, director and vice president of Jerry’s Nugget. “Guests have been coming here for years, and bringing their family members along with them decade after decade. Our guests know what to expect from our family-friendly environment, and can always find their favorite slots and video poker games.”

Opened in 1964, Jerry’s Nugget on Las Vegas Blvd. North was established when owners Jerry Stamis and Jerry Lodge purchased Mordell Earl’s old Town House Bar. Four years later, they bought out their closest competitor, the Bonanza Club, which featured the city’s tallest sign in 1968, the famous oil derrick.
“Our boutique business model allows us to connect with our guests on a more personal level,” continued Stamis. “We’re excited to celebrate this anniversary, and are looking forward to the next 50 years of continued success and unsurpassed customer service.”

Still owned by the Stamis family, Jerry's Nugget remains today, one of the premier mid-sized casino properties in North Las Vegas. Housing a full-service gaming floor with the latest slots and video poker, Race and Sports Book, live Keno Lounge, Bingo Hall and table games.
