  • NY bait and switch VP

No one talks much about this, and with the expanding of NY State casinos, it needs to be advertised.
Thanks, Steve. You addressed the issue well.

Re: NY bait and switch VP

I had heard about this being a problem at NY casinos and I finally had a chance to see it myself last year when my wife and I made a trip to Niagara Falls.

We stopped at the Hamburg Raceway Casino and I played the video poker games.

Several times I was dealt a winning hand and I threw it away just to see what would happen.

Every time I was dealt another hand just as good,or better, than what I threw away.

So it was just further proof that there is no strategy needed.

Just push the button and don't even bother with what you hold or throw away because the result will be the same!

How does one know if the game they are playing is this type of machine?

All video poker machines at New York racetrack casinos work in this manner.

They are basically slot machines and not video poker machines.

Just push the button because you have no control over how to play your hands.
