  • Jerry’s nugget casino launches prime rib eating challenge on nat'l prime rib day 4/27

Actually, this food challenge seems somewhat reasonable. Not that I am going to do it, but the meat is only 48-ounces (three pounds) and some of that weight has to be the bone.

I would think that quite a few people might be able to achieve eating the entire meal and then they get it for FREE! Of course, they will have to leave room for the banana split which is also part of the required meal! Click on the photo to enlarge it and see the meal.

Las Vegas – (April 9, 2014) – Jerry’s Nugget Casino chomps into National Prime Rib Day, Sunday, April 27, with the launch of its Prime Rib Eating Challenge at Jerry’s Famous Coffee Shop, available for willing participants weekly Sunday – Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Prime Rib Eating Challenge includes the full consumption of the Double Cut Prime Rib meal, which consists of: Salad: dinner salad with croutons and choice of dressing, Main entrée: a 48-ounce prime rib – the thickest cut served, Sides: a baked potato and ear of corn, Bread: one piece of garlic toast, Dessert: Jerry's Famous Banana Split. Participants are required to finish the meal in 45 minutes or less.

“Our reputation of having the best quality prime rib for the best price is something our guests have come to know us for,” said Joseph Stamis, director and vice president of Jerry’s Nugget. “We’re looking forward to having some fun with this contest and widening our reach to those who may not be as familiar with our product.”

Winners of the Prime Rib Challenge will receive an “I am King of Cow at the Jerry’s Nugget Prime Rib Challenge” t-shirt and commemorative crown, their Double Cut Prime Rib meal free of charge (does not include gratuity) and photo taken for the Prime Rib Hall of Fame. Participants who fail to finish the full meal in the time allotted will be required to pay for their prime rib meal valued at $41.89 (plus tax and gratuity) and will have their photo taken for the Prime Rib Hall of Shame.

Participants must be 18 or older and must present valid form of photo identification upon entry. Participants will also be required to sign a “Release of Liability” form. For the full set of challenge rules, please visit jerrysnugget.com/dining. A launch event will be held in advance of National Prime Rib Day. Details will be announced at a later date.

Since opening its doors in 1964, prime rib has been a signature favorite at Jerry’s Nugget. With more than 1.6 million pounds of prime rib served, the recipe and cooking process remains unchanged, from choosing premium Grade A prime beef, mixing secret spices and slow roasting the meat at 200 degrees for 10 – 12 hours. Upon serving, the prime rib is topped with Jerry’s au jus sauce, a broth with natural ingredients that enhance the robust flavor. Patrons can choose from three cuts of prime rib at Jerry’s Famous Coffee Shop – English Cut (8 – 10 ounces, $13.89), Thick Cut (28 – 30 ounces, $20.89) and Double Cut (48 ounces, $41.89), all juicy, tender and cooked to satisfaction.
