Brewery at El Cortez?

    Brewery at El Cortez?

    I noticed this week's contest was for a prize at the El Cortez Casino and Brewery. How long have they had a brewery? I didn't know about it.

    They have had a brewery there for many years.

    You can see the giant vats in the back when you walk in. They are behind clear glass windows.

    You used to have to walk through that area when they had the BBQ restaurant outside, but now it's been moved inside.

    The beer is very, very good. I have had it a few times!

      I am going to have to check that out and enjoy the beer. It sounds similar to the Ellis Island.

        Sorry, but I must be going a little senile.

        I just realized that I, of course, was referring to Ellis Island, and not the El Cortez.

        We have two prize sponsors: Ellis Island Casino & Brewery and the El Cortez Hotel & Casino.

        It seems that I combined them into one and made it the El Cortez Casino and Brewery.

        I have corrected the contest posting to show that the correct prize is "Winner Receives Complimentary Food & Beverage for Two at any restaurant at Ellis Island Casino & Brewery in Las Vegas. Expires 12/1/13." It's a great prize because there is no dollar limit on the comp.

        A free one night stay at the El Cortez Hotel & Casino will be a future prize.

        Sorry for the confusion and my apologies to the participating casinos!
