  • 2009 American Casino Guide Format

Steve, With only 3 months before the 2009 ACG will be available to the public; what have you decided to do to resolve the various issues that some of the casinos have raised about accepting our ACG coupns? It is very disappointing to travel to a casino to use your ACG coupons and they do not accept them! Many of us have decided not to patronize these casinos anymore which is the exact opposite of what the coupons are intended for which is to get us into their casino. Some casinos have told me that the problem is in the hands of the ACG and not the casino! No matter who is at fault, the entire issue leaves a bad taste in the consumers mouth. Please let us know what we have to look forward to in the 2009 ACG so that we do not have to deal with these issues in the future. thanks much, Megaladon

    Re: 2009 ACG coupon format

There is not much I can do to resolve an issue if a casino decides that it is in their best interests to force someone to bring the book with them when they present a coupon.

All we can do is contact the casino and remind them that we don't require that the book be present when a coupon is redeemed. If they don't want to agree with that then we make sure to not renew their coupon the following year.

Keep in mind that a casino always reserves the right to change its offers and if they decide it's in their interest to change the terms, then they will certainly do that.

There was an issue earlier this year with Red Rock not accepting our coupon. If you look on the coupon changes page at http://americancasinoguide.com/coupo...n-changes.html I tell people that Red Rock is not accepting the coupon at all.

I have heard from many people that Red Rock will accept the coupon if it is torn out of the book in front of the cashier. However, I cannot confirm this and that is why I tell people that Red Rock is not accepting the coupon at all.

I would rather not have someone make the trip out there only to find out that the coupon is not being accepted at all. Red Rock will not be in the book next year.

Steve - am I understanding your response correctly that there will no change format for the 2009 edition of the ACG?

The only change we are looking at is using a fluorescent ink in the coupon section.

It is a color that cannot be reproduced by a copy machine.

Of course, it's more expensive to use that kind of ink, but if it makes it harder to copy a coupon then the cost is worth it.
