  • Got a dealt royal flush on my latest trip to Las Vegas!

My son and I were paying at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas last week and we got dealt this royal flush!

That is the first time in my life I ever got dealt a royal.

The odds of that happening are 649,740-to-1

Great! It was sequential too! i have never had a dealt! I was lucky enough to hit 2 royals last trip in December. I have to remember to be more conservative this upcoming trip.

Wow! Thats amazing...Not a common hand... Have heard that to calculate the probability of being dealt a royal flush, you need to know two numbers. Total possible poker hands and number of ways that a royal flush can be dealt and then divide the second number by the first number. Was it calculation or luck!

There are 2,598,960 unique poker hands that you can be dealt on a video poker machine (not counting jokers).

Since only four of them (hearts, diamonds, spades, clubs) can be a dealt royal flush, you only need to divide by four to discover the odds are 649,740 to 1.
