Is there a certian slot machine that pays better than others? I know that where I have played the Wheel of Fortune game (.25 cent) and I get a spin it always lands on low numbers. Also does having a casino card increase or decrease the odds?

Re: Which machine best to play...
Hi Scotty, actually there are better paying games than others. Denomination has alot to do with it.....the higher the denomination the higher the % payback. Dollar machines generally return about 97%....quarters about 92%....nickels about 85%........that's for the one armed bandits.
Video poker pays better, with dollars and quarters generally paying in the 95-99% range and nickels paying aroung 94-97%. One exception is that there are some VP quarter machines(full-pay dueces wild and kings or better joker poker) in Nevada that return 100.75%.....but you won't find any dollar machines that pay 100.75% because the pros could make $25.00/hour on them. They can tolerate someone grinding 6.00/7.00 hour on a few machines because it's good for business to be able to advertise the full pay machines.
9/6 jacks or better is also considered full-pay but only returns 99.50 %....which when combined with your players card and with a progressive royal jackpot can actually be a positive expectation game.
Big progressive games like Wheel of Fortune and Megabucks have lower % payback percentages(upper 80's), when you're not hitting the big one, than other one-armed bandits, because more of your money has to go towards building up that monster jackpot.
Whether or not you use a player's card makes no difference in the way that the game will play......but it will allow you to earn free food and free rooms. I recommend always using the card unless you're up to something shady or are trying to hide from someone or something.

Re: best payout machine to play
I usually try to look for the 10x, 5x and triples as far as slots go. I've had pretty good luck. I am not a huge gambler, I go with a pretty limited about of money and I've hit $600 a few times on quarters and $5,000 on the dollars. It's hit or miss though, they don't seem to pay back as often as some of the others but when they do, in my experience, it makes it a better deal than the ones that pay out less more often.
I've never been able to make anything off the ones that are pretty standard, like the red white and blue 7's. They might pay out more frequently but it's so low that it just disappears (for me anyway).
I never play the nickels, even if they pay out it's pretty small.
Anyone know what the payouts are on video keno? I was thinking about playing that a little more this next time we go.

Re: best payout machine to play
i am one of those people that always play the 1 penny, 2 penny, and nickle slots. i have been winning quite consistantly with them. it is not unusual to win 50-700 $. i just won $156 on a 2 cent with an investment of 60 cents. 3 days ago my wife won $600 on a nickle playing 45 cents and hit the button only 3 times. i'll take my winnings and play the quarters and dollars and lose my butt. go back to the penny and 2 penny and win again. go figure!!!

Re: best payout machine to play
Does anyone know where the 5 line red, white, blue 7, flat tabletop machines are in Vegas, my niece won back to back jackpots($6000) at Mandalay bay back in 2001, now we can't find them anywhere!!
Also, my sister won $3000 at 4 Queens on the the 3 reel triple diamonds, now that machine is gone, too!

Actually I do not know !!! But since your relatives hit so much in 2001, I'd say the casinos had to get rid of the machines or they'd go broke if you (& OR relatives) played there again in 2007.

Re: best payout machine to play
LINDY asked... Anyone know what the payouts are on video keno?
All video keno machines have payout tables... you can check them out before putting in any money by selecting 'see pays'. I recommend checking the payouts, because just like video poker, there can be significantly different payouts for the same denomination bet (and for the same hits) between different machines.
I've found the nickel video keno machines pay back more on smaller hits, but have smaller payouts on the 'big hits' (5 out of 5, 10 out of 10, etc.).
The higher denomination keno (quarter and dollar) pay very little on small hits, but pay huge on the big hits. Problem is, you can lose all your money playing quarter or dollar keno waiting for one of those big hits... but if you hit, it's great!
I won $1100 on a quarter machine, and then hit $400 on the same machine about an hour later. However, I've had other days where I lose all of my money before ever getting a good hit.

Re: Which machine best to play...
Interesting experience I had about 6 months back on a penny machine(Cool Cats)in Vegas was that it was a multi-denomination type and I was playing max bet on it ,when the machine turned hot and kept hitting a lot of bonuses. This happened for several minutes so I thought what the heck go for it and changed it to nickels max bet and it kept hitting for a little while longer.Well I ended up with $1653. My question is 'Isn't there suppose to be different RNG chip's for penny, nickel payout percentages?? It didn't appear that way in my experience but was still happy with the win.
