All-American Video Poker

There is supposed to be a hard to find version of this game in some mid-west casinos, where the 4 of kinds pay 250 instead of 200, which increases the return to 102.9% with perfect play. That's a 23.00/hour game on quarters.

Does anyone know where any of these games may be? Thanks.

The last one that I saw in Vegas was in 1995. The last one that I heard about was on an Iowa boat about 10 years ago.

Found it at Ceasars' of Indiana in New Albany, IN. As of 2006 - before Harrah's took over??
Hopefully it is still there as a returning Northern Snowbird - I am making a stop there.

Please let me know if the AA poker with 250 for the quads is still there Ed. BTW that's the Caesars that customers took 487,000 dollars from when they discovered a slot machine that registered 10 times the credits for currency that was inserted into the machine. Stick a hundred dollar bill into the game.....press cashout..... and get a 1000.00 dollar ticket ! I could've paid off my mortgage in half an hour !

My normally sound ethics slip a bit when I walk into a casino. They're in the business to separate you from your money and they can be bloodsuckers about it too.....by constantly removing the good VP and lowering the pay schedules on others also. This kind of theft, as you say, at Caesars, rarely gets prosecuted because it's up to the casinos to maintain their own machines. They live by the sword and occasionly get stung by the sword. As long as it was the casino's own fault that it happened, it's their tough luck.

Ask yourself these questions......Do the casinos inform you when they lower a payschedule or tighten a machine ? Should you inform them when one of their machines becomes a gold mine for the customers ?

That's a very jaded way to rationalize stealing. Any way you look at it, it is still theft. What they're doing with the machines is still legal. There IS a difference, no matter how you look at it, and I'm sure you know that.

The Exxon gas station down the street mistakenly inverted the gas/dollar ratio.... so instead of getting 4 gallons for 10 dollars, you got 10 gallons for 4 dollars. Was that stealing ?

Your takeout order from Mcdonalds had 2 extra cheeseburgers included at no charge. You eat them and say nothing. Was that stealing ?

My point is that technically you're probably right, but realistically I would have no conscience issues keeping mum when an 800 pound gorilla gets a bloody nose once in awhile !!

And now, you're rationalizing the illegal taking of thousands of dollars from a casino, by comparing it to an extra cheeseburger from McD's. One is petty, and one is grand larceny ... shame on you.

I agree that there are some legitimate ethical issues to be debated about that incident, but you may be jumping to a conclusion by saying that an actual crime was committed there.
I was trying to understand the ethics of the situation by making those comparisons....obviously the casino situation is more grand in scale than the other two, but the moral theme is similar.
Let's say I left 487K in cash on my front lawn overnight, and it was gone the next morning, would it be legally correct to say that a crime had been committed ? It could fall under something like an attractive nuisance or enticement category and may not actually be a crime. Maybe there's a lawyer out here who could answer this one !

You continue trying to rationalize your opinion of the original issue by comparing it to other silly instances. Leave 487K out on your front lawn ... ??? As comedian Ron White says, 'You can't fix stupid.'

The point you are missing is that inside of a casino, there are no fairy-tale comparisons. If you take money from them in any unfair way, it does NOT matter that there was a 'glitch' in the machine. That casino is their kingdom, and they WILL prosecute !!!

I can fully understand this 'glitch' happening to someone the first time, and whether they turn it in, or walk away with the money, is their own moral issue. But then ... to do it over & over & over again, you are 'knowingly' stealing. And when that person gets caught, the casino will laugh in their face at your comparisons, as they haul that person's butt into the security office.

I can't make it any plainer that that ... I'm done.

Hey Mike - just returned from Caesars in New Albany, IN on my way back to Michigan. AA Poker WAS still there - and yes it has 250 for 4 of a kind and 40 for full house, straights and flushes. Had better luck at 50 cent poker playing Aces & Faces which paid 50 for a full house. Lots of full houses. Didn't find the 'magic' machine that was giving out $1000 tickets for $100 ?? But did find a Pic 'em poker that gave me a straight flush!!! Now if I could only do that at MGM Detroit??

Thanks Ed, that's great news about the AA poker. I may park myself there all summer !

I've hit only 1 straight flush in my life on pick 'em....very tough. This casino sounds like a good VP place with the aces and faces FH paying 50 also.

Tell me that the rest of the schedule is normal on the AA....like the 3 of a kinds paying 15 and str. flushes paying 1000. Also, can you tell me how many games of that type of AA are there, the denomination, and if it's coin-in or Tickets ? Thanks again.
