Here's a story from the Las vegas Sun on 6/17/10 about the proliferation of 6-to-5 blackjack games in Las vegas.

After Harrah's Entertainment introduced blackjack games five years ago with payouts of 6-5 instead of 3-2, other casinos followed suit. Twenty-five percent of the blackjack games on the Las Vegas Strip now offer 6-5 payouts, but the games appeal to casual gamblers because of the lower minimum bets. Read the whole story

Too many players do not understand that 6-5 blackjack is bad. Right now 6-5 blackjack is spreading like the plague.

I play fewer and fewer hands of blackjack every time in Vegas now. With all the rules changes, the house edge for BJ exceeds that of craps and other games that are more fun. In addition, it seems like BJ players get more cranky every year.
