Las Vegas’ Favorite Free Football Contest Returns for 8th Season, With $500,000 Up for Grabs
LAS VEGAS––Pick the Pros, the Las Vegas Valley’s longest-running free football contest, kicks off its eighth season at Boyd Gaming casinos across Southern Nevada on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
During the past 10 years, Pick the Pros winners have taken home nearly $4 million in prize money throughout Boyd Gaming properties in Southern Nevada, and the contest has racked up multiple wins for “Best Football Contest” in the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s annual “Best of Las Vegas” competition. During the 2015 professional football season, more than $500,000 will be up for grabs in Pick the Pros, including a $30,000 cash prize each week during the regular season.
“For eight years now, Pick the Pros has been the free football contest of choice for Las Vegas Locals,” said Bob Scucci, director of race and sports book operations for Boyd Gaming’s Nevada properties. “No one has been doing this contest as long and as successfully as Boyd Gaming, and we look forward to another great season in 2015.”
With Pick the Pros, players start a new contest each week, so all players have the same shot at the $30,000 prize pool during every week of the football season. Players select the winners of each week’s slate of games, straight up, and winners are selected by the number of correct picks.
If there is only one top performer during a given week, that lucky player receives the entire $30,000 prize pool. In the event of a tie among multiple players, one player will be randomly selected to receive a $10,000 cash prize, while the remaining winners will split a $20,000 pool.
Players receive a minimum of three entries per week. A B Connected account is required to participate, but there is never a fee to participate in Pick the Pros.
Entries for week one will be accepted starting Tuesday, September 1 at 5 p.m. Entries may be submitted at electronic kiosks located at The Orleans, Suncoast, Gold Coast, Sam’s Town, Fremont, Main Street Station and the California.
