| LAS VEGAS (March 21, 2016) - Golden Nugget Las Vegas will be bringing the best of Napa and Sonoma Valley's wines to Downtown Las Vegas with the eighth annual Winefest weekend event May 13-14. Guests will be treated to several thirst-quenching events throughout the weekend from wine seminars to the ultimate grand tasting, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting The Animal Foundation. This two-day wine weekend will feature the following events: Poolside Wine Kick Off Reception Friday, May 13 - 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.; The Tank Kick off springtime with this reception under the stars. Guests are invited to experience an evening out at Golden Nugget's world-famous pool and shark tank. In addition, guests will be able to sip on a refreshing array of world class wines from Napa and Sonoma, and chat with celebrity winery representatives, throughout the evening. This event is priced at $45 per person. Wine Comparison Seminar: Napa vs. Sonoma Red Blends Saturday, May 14 - 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse Learn about Napa and Sonoma reds with this comparison seminar. Guests can experience 10 exciting red blends, five each from Napa and Sonoma. Highlights include samples of Terlato Episode, Alexander Valley Vineyards Cyrus, Rodney Strong Symmetry and Franciscan Magnificent, along with six more high profile red blends. This seminar is hosted by Master Sommelier Guy Stout priced at $35 per person. Wine Comparison Seminar: Blind Tasting Saturday, May 14 - 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse Take part in this comparison seminar featuring a complete "how-to" guide to blind tasting. Hosted by Master Sommelier Guy Stout, guests will be able to learn the art of deduction along with winery representatives and brand ambassadors. This seminar is priced at $35 per person. Napa and Sonoma Grand Tasting and Silent Auction Saturday, May 14 - 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.; The Grand Event Center Enjoy the main event where guests will be transported to wine country's most prestigious wineries, right here in Las Vegas, at this special Grand Tasting affair. Tantalizing your taste buds with over 100 selections from Napa and Sonoma Counties most prestigious wineries. In addition, live jazz and culinary bites will be available, making this a wine lovers dream come true. Guests are welcome to participate in the event's silent auction from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., featuring wine lots, large format collector bottles, wine region trips and other hard-to-find-gifts. $5 from every full priced ticket will be donated to The Animal Foundation.
