There is something seriously wrong when the resort fee is more than the price of the room.

Ditto! Most of the time it is a pretty bad deal. Their regular rooms are nothing special. It can be good deal on a two day stay, 2 people using their shuttle back and forth to AP. They also really reduce offers if you win. I have only played .25 there and in 5 plays had only one win with 1 royal.
And they now offer me a reduced rate, + the resort fee, it doesn't compare with the other deals around town.
