  • Just to clafigy CET resport fees

All the properties have the same resort fee. It is $28 (with tax)
And almost all gamblers will pay it. Platinum no longer gets a waiver.

My last trip of 25 days I paid on average $9.25 total (with taxes and resort fees) for my rooms. Frugal can still be had, but it takes some work.

    Oh, my.

    The title should print "clarify"

Although it is tempting to clafigy resort fees. Whatever that is.

Hey Dewey--always enjoy your posts and always learn a lot from them, so thanks for that. I believe it was your postings that got us into riding the RTC and we do that constantly anymore.

We had an odd experience in September that I was wondering if you could help us understand. We were on the way back fron Reno and stopped in LV for four nights at Sam's. Before we left I had booked Sam's off of their sight. I had no discount offers there--the price off of the "Book a Room" page and "My Offers" page were the same. I happened to book off of the My Offers page and when we checked out there was no resort fee. It amounted to about $40, which we are happy to keep, but was wondering if booking off of the My Offers page might be the reason, or someone just forgot to add the resort fee, or what?

Generally I just add resort fees in and compare the bottom line--Sam's beat Eastside by a bit and we like Sam's so we stayed there. If booking off of the My Offers page eliminates the resort fee, Sam's would almost certainly beat ECannary in the future.

Just wondering if you had any insight into this.--and thanks again for all of you help in the past.

I have had a similar experience with Gold Coast; however it was a long time ago when the fees were not very much. But it does not seem to be predictable. I asked once at my checkout at Gold Coast, and they just gave me a generic answer that it depended on how I booked, but they could not really tell me when the fee applied and when it did not.
I should have tried it when I added a night to a mailed offer. On that I had to pay the resort fee and then they took another $10 to give me a better room for all three days.
I guess one way to do it up front is to book off B Connected and then call to confirm and ask,
"Now, I understand that the way I booked waives the resort fee, is that right?"
        And see what they say.

I can see the logic in doing that. They are never paying a discounter for rooms booked from B- Connected and that site has already separated gamblers from just tourists, so perhaps they don't want to rile the waters and they just build the resort fee into whatever they list as the price of the room.
Many folks can't understand why all casinos don't just package both the hotel rate and the resort fee, but if they did that, when a discounter sold the room, they would take a piece of the resort fee as well as the hotel rate.

Nice going in just falling into that good deal at Sam's Town.
And thanks for sharing. I'd like to stay at Sam's Town and the resort fee is always the deal breaker in price comparison. I think I'll try a booking and a call next time and see what is what.
Thanks for the question. Perhaps we'll get other answers.

Happy you are enjoying the bus. I met two people who recognized me and thanked me for bus information on my last trip. There are more bus riders out there than many people realize, especially once they learn how to avoid the Deuce and how seniors can get half fare on all buses.

I'll do that Dave. Perhaps some others will try it and let me know.
