Excalibur resort fee

The Excalibur resort fee went up from $22 to $25 since I booked; however, in my confirmation is the $22 rate and that is all they will charge me when I go in November.
Also, booking directly helped me again. The Orleans gave me 2 free nights, so I shortened my paid Excalibur nights and booked the Orleans saving about $85. Had I used a discounter, I would have had to cancel the entire booking and rebook at a rate certainly above what I found a few months ago.

Exactly why I am boycotting Vegas! These "Resort Fees" are such a rip-off! The Indians are getting my gambling money, until Vegas hotels wake up and get back to catering to the gamblers....

Resort fees suck, but they all do it now. The practice was tested in federal court, and found to be legal as long as it was disclosed somewhere in the offer.
And so Pandora's box was opened.
It also has something to do with third party booking, the hotel gets it all, therefore cutting the third party booking company out of the resort fee profit loop.

I receive offers for comped rooms, and the resort fee is still charged.

At what level is the resort fee waived?

When we go to Vegas we get our rooms comped at the Hard Rock and they do not charge a resort fee for a comped room.

We also sometimes stay in a comped room at either Sam's Town or Gold Coast, which are both Boyd properties. There is no resort fee charged at either of those properties for a comped room.

It is my understanding that there is never a resort fee at any Boyd property when staying in a comped room.

Last I stayed at the Hard Rock was November 2015. We went to see the band "Ratt" at the Vinyl Room. The room was in my friends name, as he knows the band. I did some moderate level gambling, mostly bar top VP (nearby the center bar in this case) and received two comped offers via snail mail so far, but the resort fee was not included. About $35 a night or so as I recall. (I called to inquire). Oct, Nov and Dec 2016, and Jan Feb March 2017, Some casino rate rooms on weekends, ($19 up to $239) some comped except for the resort fees.

My comps were off nights and weekdays mostly, with one Saturday in November 2016 (none in Oct), one Fri, Sat & Sun the three nights including Christmas, Dec 23, 24 & 25th, 2016. All other weekends various prices, too high for me in 2016.
2017, one three dayer in Jan, (Fri Sat & Sun) two in Feb and none in March except allot of weekdays and most Sundays. Casino Rate weekends Fridays and Saturdays ($89 up to $179 plus resort fees)

I have been getting allot of email offers. Mostly fodder for events and such. So, it depends on the level of play for me, and I am surprised I got anything at all being as I've never stayed there. (with a room in my name that is)

If they know who Steve Bourie is they should roll out the red carpet and send a Limo to the airport to pick you up and drop you off, IMHO. Maybe you should hang with the Wizard. That would be something!

I ran into Bob Dancer at the Ramada Express in Laughlin about ten years ago (could have been more) and he told me they were paying him to play there. He was playing high return Bonus Poker. It's good advertising to have celebrity gamblers playing in your casino.

I got on that machine as soon as he left but still lost. That was mostly a boating trip.

I might stay there at some point, (Hard Rock) but I'm an Advantage Player so that isn't my first choice to gamble.

Both my son and I get offers from the Hard Rock and both include no resort fee.

Maybe you should try calling a host over there? He/she could probably waive the resort fees for you.
