30 VGM Units Now Operational at Four Casino Properties throughout Atlantic City
ATLANTIC CITY – (Wednesday, December 21, 2016) GameCo, Inc., creator of the world’s first video game gambling machines (VGM™), announces today its expansion to the Tropicana Atlantic City in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
As casino gaming evolves to appeal to the next generation of players, GameCo is strategically aligning itself with casino partners who share the same vision of combining the entertainment, engagement, and excitement of video games, esports, and gambling to create an all-embracing destination for future casino customers. Beginning Friday, December 23, Tropicana will feature nine gaming positions with three triple-unit carousels placed in high traffic, prominent locations throughout the casino floor and dedicated gaming areas.
“Tropicana is thrilled to bring you MORE exciting experiences with the addition of GameCo,” said Steve Callender, General Manager of Tropicana Atlantic City. “GameCo provides the first gambling experience that appeals to video gamers. It will bring a new level of fun and entertainment to Tropicana and is a perfect addition for our Slots In The Quarter gaming area.”
Last month, GameCo made history when it launched the VGM at all three Caesars Entertainment properties in Atlantic City (Caesars, Harrah’s Resort and Bally’s Wild Wild West), becoming the first video game gambling company in the world to debut skill-based games on casino floors. With this expansion to Tropicana, GameCo will now have 30 machines across four casino properties in Atlantic City.
“We’re excited to be expanding deployment of our VGMs in Atlantic City with Tropicana,” said Blaine Graboyes, CEO and co-founder of GameCo. “As someone who spent my childhood summers on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, it’s equally exciting and humbling to be the leader in bringing video game gambling to casinos. Gamers deserve a “VIP Experience” and casinos such as Tropicana are the perfect venue to provide a unique destination and entertainment program.”
GameCo is currently executing a major nationwide rollout, with plans to be operational in most major U.S. gambling jurisdictions by the end of 2017.
