Hello. I'm new to this forum. I'm an a.p of blackjack and am now interested in having an advantage in video poker. Can someone tell me what bankroll I need to play 9/6 jacks are better on the dollar machine with 5 spots. On average how long would 500.00 last? Thanks

In real casino Play, my experience says that a low volatile game such as 6-9- J-o-B or NSUD you probably won't lose more than 100 dollars or 150 per hour on quarter Play, but if you like to jump in directly on a dollar game, then it can easily cost you 500 in one single hour.
Hopefully this will give you an idea how the ball rolls...

Re: Video poker
If you play 9/6 Jacks perfectly and bet the maximum five coins, the game would be expected to return 99.54%. Unless you are getting club benefits, you will be a long-term loser.
Also, according to Bob Dancer, until you hit a royal flush, you are expected to lose at about a rate of 2.5%. So, if you bet quarters and play 600 hands an hour (600 x $1.25 = $750) then your expected loss would be $18.75 per hour.
You are expected to hit a royal about once every 40,000 hands.

Re: Video poker
Well yes and now. Steve's calculation is the longterm result, under the conditions that a Player never makes any mistake, and in addition to that, he's getting exactly the precise share of hands, e.g. exactly the number of Royal Flushes he should expect to get, the right number of pairs, two pairs, straights, etc. However, the likelihood of this to happen, in, let's say...1 million hands, or 5 million hands, or 100 million hands, is close to cero. The more hands you can Play in your lifetime Career, the closer you will get to that magical number...(99.54 per cent). If you Play one full month and manage to Play 300,000 hands (10,000 a day), then you will be Kinda surprised what the swing that you will experience will look like.
In other words, in one hour of Play at 1 dollar denom Level, even if it's a low volatile game, the hourly and daily swings can be substantial. And if you don't get your Royal Flush every 3 or 4 days, then you will be in trouble. Ok, there will be day when you will have 2 royals, and once in a blue moon day even 3 royals in 1 day (happened to me once in a 24 hour period), but this is rare. More likely are 6 or 9 days without Royal Flush, and this can be very frustrating.
Let's make a Little mathematical example:
You Play 10,000 hands of 1 Dollar J-o-B, you Play perfectly and there is no Players club points in return for you. No extra promotion except the free drinks. That would be the playing time of about 14-16 hours, depending on how fast you can Play. Assuming you don't make any single theoretical error.
The result would look like as follows:
10,000 x 5 Dollar per hand x 99.54 per cent return = 49,770 /// Theoretically, you will be down 230 Dollars. Will you?
Realistically, there will be huge swings at this Level. So it rather looks as follows:
squre root of 19.52 (variance) : square root of 10,000 (hands played) x 1.96 x 100 = 8.65733
10,000 hands x 5 dollars per hand x 8.65733 : 100 = 4328.67 Dollars
R'= 49,770 +/- 4328.67 Dollars
Summary: After 1 day of Play, single line , 1 dollar videopoker , 10,000 hands, you will be somewhere in the range of - 4559 Dollars and + 4,098.67 Dollars, in 95/100 times.
Divide this by 15 hours of playing time, and you will find out that a realistic score per hour will be probably not worse than -303.93 Dollars or the equivalent in the plus zone.
I never played dollar machines for other reason that that (tax reasons for non US citizens), but I can tell you that a "normal swing" per hour can be heavy and sometimes I lose even 150 in one single hour. But the absolute worst that ever happened to me was a negative score of approx 800 on quarters, in one single day. And I have about 99 per cent of playing accuracy, which Needs improvement.

Re: Video poker
In Terms of bankroll requirements.....apart from all spending money during your trip to L-V...I recommend 5-10x a Royal Flush Cycle as a comfortable bankroll. It means...if you opt to Play dollar machines, you should have about 20,000-40,000 Dollars in bankroll available. If you step down...it's proportional. Quarter Players are usually comfy with less than 10k in their bankroll reserve.

Re: Video poker
The video poker training software we sell is for your computer. All three will work on Windows and only one of them will work with both Mac and Windows computers. For more information on those software programs, go to - https://www.americancasinoguide.com/...-software.html
If you want to practice on your Android phone we would suggest that you get a membership at videopoker.com, but you will have to pay a monthly fee for that membership. Only Gold membership offers you a training mode to teach you how to be a better player and the cost for that is $8.95 per month.
However, we have a special promotion with them where you can get a free 14-day trial of their Gold membership at no cost to you. For more information on that FREE offer, go to - videopoker.com/acg
