  • Interview with Linda Boyd

If you at all interested in new developments in video poker, this interview clarifies information I often find too complicated.
For once new games in casinos add to the ER rather than tricking us into less advantage with more entertaining bells and whistles.

Linda discusses among many other new VP game innovations, the new Texas Hold em neuron technology(data analysis methods and algorithms, indirectly based on the nervous systems of humans) where they basically collect from the best poker player the way he thinks (over years of play) and that runs the game. What's next? Perhaps 3D Flashpoint projection in mid air of our opponents?

Part of the discussion focused on the deterioration of VP comps and cashback. It reminded me that Linda introduced me to a host at the Edgewater in Laughlin (Janella) where there was a bank of full pay quarter games which virtually did not give points for play to make up for the great pay tables. However, those machines did provide a way for the money running through them to combine with other slot play to earn the comps that the hosts are able to give: free rooms, food, tickets to comedy, etc. Actually, those host generated comps were much more valuable to me than earned points.

    Re: Interview with Linda Boyd

When we started playing VP about 15 years ago, we were frequenting about 15 casinos between Las Vegas and the Palm Springs, CA area. Over the years they have all tried techniques like you are talking about. We are now down to 3 casinos that we play VP at.
